Taraba Tribunal judgement ridiculous, It can't stand before men & God - Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the tribunal judgement sacking the Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku as a ridiculous political judgement that can never stand before men of good conscience and God.

Governor Fayose, who maintained that there was a conspiracy by the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government and a section of the judiciary against the People's Democratic Party (PDP), called on the Supreme Court to save the country from impending anarchy.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor wondered how a tribunal could make conduct of the PDP primary that produced Governor Ishaku in Abuja an issue when the tribunal itself sat in Abuja. He said; "How does the emergence of party candidate, which is the clear internal business of the party and a pre-election matter concern the APC and the Election Tribunal?

"Isn't it funny that it is no longer about election rigging, but technicality of how PDP candidates emerged even when no one in the PDP went to court to challenge how Governor Ishaku emerged as the PDP governorship candidate? "If insecurity could make Taraba State Tribunal sit in Abuja and not in Jalingo, how then can it be justified that the same tribunal that sat in Abuja nullified the governor's election because the primary election that produced him too was held in Abuja?

"Is it not being manifested in this President Mohammadu Buhari led APC government that what is good for some people may not be good for others even though we operate the same constitution?

"To me and the teeming supporters of the PDP, this judgement is one that must not be allowed to stand. It is a clear miscarriage of justice and we will seek redress from the court of men and the court of God." While reiterating his commitment to speaking the truth in the overall interest of Nigerians, Governor Fayose said; "If everybody is persecuted and intimidated to submission, I will remain resolute in my resolved to always say the truth before men and God."

We re in democracy where one is free do vote for any party of his or her own and when u say face ur state u sound like a FOOL. Tell me, is he not from Nigeria? Why can't he say if the judiciary have been compromised or not? Without been told Nigeria judiciary re messed up under the watch of PMB, funny enough they think the world is not watching them lol....As far as where I am, we listen and watch news everywhere in the world. Americans build American not by closing there mouth, if Nigeria must move forward first the judicial system must be well organised. One funny thing we notice is that the judicial system in Nigeria re more corrupt shame, now who will speak for the common man and woman? What even happen to Mr. A can also happen to the next person don't forget.

  23. Nigerian Judiciary: Do the judges use the same Electoral Act or do they use the by - laws of their respective town unions?
In Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom left the PDP where he lost the governorship primary and was handed the APC ticket without a primary. The tribunal upheld his election. Today in Taraba, the PDP conducted its primary in Abuja due to security concerns, but the tribunal nullified the election on the ground that Governor Darius Ishaku was not validly nominated by his party.
On October 24, the relocated tribunal nullified the election of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on the ground of card reader accreditation and third party testimonies. But in Lagos State, up to the Supreme Court, the judges have upheld his election declaring that card reader is not enough ground to nullify an election and that only participants at the polling units can testify to the conduct of an election.
What manner of judiciary do we have under President Muhammadu Buhari? Judicial Manipulation constitutes the worst form of corruption against a nation!

  58. I hate politics but I know nigerians were fed up with pdp and the corruption hence the APC success. Nigerians were not bothered abt who came to power as long as it was not pdp hence the APC. Nigerians should remember very well how fayose came to power unless our myopic minds are in action. Fayose knows what is coming his way hence the attacks we are getting from him everyday. It's a defence tactics which I believe will not work when it's his turn to get the whip. All the public shoW's with all those old and ignorant ppl are all weapons he wants to use in the future when it is time for him to step down. Fayose rigged big time. Fayose pls shut up. You are too loud for my concentration. Wait your turn biko.
