Argentinian politician praised after a photo of her breastfeeding her daughter during a parliamentary session went viral

Victoria Donda Perez's eight-month-old daughter was hungry while she was attending a meeting in Argentine National Congress earlier this month so she whipped out her breasts and fed her in the full glare of everyone. She is being hailed as a role-model for women and the picture had further opened up a conversation on public breastfeeding. What do you think? How many women would do same? Some women said that they would rather go into the car or restroom to breastfeed their children.

  49. People get celebrated for publicising their homosexuality, for public breastfeeding and even for giving to charity. Why does the media give special treatment to people doing things that have been part of society for millenia? So you came out of the closet? Puhleeese! No big deal! I dont see straight people bandying their heterosexuality all over the place. Own it quietly. So you breastfed your baby in public? The people praising you have never entered a Lagos Molue before. It's not as if you walked on the sun and returned without a single blister!

  53. Here in Nigeria, the baby will even have like 3 personal assistants to attend to it. Very wasteful country. And don't be surprised if she's more educated with her Nigerian counterparts. And yet multitask. Nigerians are only concerned with their make-up and how to loot public money.

Public breast feeding is not bad and should be encouraged. If you cant breast feed in public how do you then proudly say you are practicing exclusive breast feeding which is of importance to the child you are nursing. Kudos to the Argentinian politician, she is a great nursing mother.

    1. Linda, u said it all and am even surprie dat d white can do dis. If it was all those African women all they wil do is to hide d breast and hide in one corner as if there is sth over special wit wht they r abt to do.

Some wil rather let d baby to starve and mak silly excuse of not wanting to expose their breasts in d public. Hiss! Na today!

    2. I can never breastfeed in public! If my baby is hungry, I would look for a secluded place and breastfeed. So when a woman becomes a nursing mother, she should whipp her breast out anywhere and breastfeed? Akuko.

She said it was "culturally shocking". I wondered why exposing a breast when breastfeeding is shocking while d likes of kim, miley n rihannaetc exposing theirs for entertainment is not

  72. Dicey real dicey. Latina women behave like market women, talking about monthly cycles in public, how many times they get f****ed,the size of their men's Cucumber and all kinds. In this case, the child was hungry and she had Ltd choice. The baby could have been left at home though and did she flash her nips? Oh well, who cares.

  75. I'll look for a private place ( restroom, empty office) or, if it's too urgent, whip it out but have a piece of cloth covering my breast.
Even that blue jacket around her seat could have done the job of covering herself up- but, I am glad she is being hailed, people are being yanked out from stores ( Primark ) for breastfeeding.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I applaud her. I will do the same too. But I will use a wrap to cover my breasts if I am doing it in public. But if I don't have a wrap on me, I won't let my baby go hungry. Whoever can't stand looking at my breasts can take a hike.

  79. As much as I think she did no wrong, there is a better way of doing certain things. She can excuse herself briefly or prepare a bag of alternative meals. If it was naija, i'd have said akamu can be prepared in a feeder. Anyway, i'd say she enjoys breastfeeding, my friend then almost orgasms when feeding her baby.

    ReplyDelete
  80. No be only restroom! In naija? Unless u mean sheraton or hilton restroom. Me sha I whip out my boobies everywhere n anywhere den I cover it with my baby shawl. Don't think we have problem with public b/feeding in naija sha. Infact if u waste time strangers will shout at u ehn.

  81. African Mothers do this everyday and they are condemned as rural and uncivilized. There is a lot that Africans can teach the world, including village democracy. But trust the miseducated copy cats, they always think foreign is better, including skin bleaching and wearing of artificial hair. Thanks to Nicki Minaj and Amber Rose, at least the African bums and waist line are bringing on Negroid beauty to webworld. Meantime, quit the bleach and feed your baby well, women. If only Africans would clean up their act and gain confidence in their cultures!!! We are more humane than we recognize.
