I hate violence and can never be identified with electoral violence - Patience Jonathan

First Lady Patience Jonathan says she hates violence and can never in any way be associated with electoral violence. Speaking with Punch through her media aide, Ayo Adewuyi, the first lady said as President of the African First Ladies, she cannot be promoting violence during and after elections
"The only thing we can say from here is that Dame Patience Jonathan is a woman of peace that can never in any way be identified with violence before, during and after elections. You do not expect somebody who is the President of African First Ladies to be promoting violence.” the aide said
On the plans by the APC to drag the first lady before the International Criminal Court over her recent remarks in Calabar, where she said that anyone who talked about change should be stonedd, the media aide said
"They are just notifying. The case is not yet in ICC. They are entitled to their opinions and actions. We are not going to be dragged into any argument with them".

  15. Ayo Adewumi what about having your statement read like this: "The attention of the 1st lady has been drawn to the video circulating on the social media. The 1st lady is so saddened that her words are generating such a huge controversy and anger. In all fairness to the people that have expressed their disgust at my words, such words should never have been uttered. I sincerely apologise for such a careless statement that was never in anyway intended to incite violence. As long as I remain the 1st lady of our dear country Nigeria, a will redouble my effort in championing the cause of peace regardless of our political differences . I am sorry."

  51. she hates violence but she told Nigerians to stone any one clamouring for change. What do u call that? She should take a cue from d former first lady of ivory coast laurent gagagbo's wife who has just been sentenced to 20 years in prisonment for promoting post election violence after her husband lost. Patience Jonathan may b next cos of her continous lousy,unco-ordinated and provocative speeches she's been engaging in. So what d hell are they saying that she can never b associated with violence. These always think Nigerians are fools. Just hope Nigerians will prove they are not fools as presumed.

  56. This is just the view of the media assistant to Dame, she herself said in broad daylight that supporters of an opposition party should be stoned. Isn't that an incitement for pre-election violence. I understand the guy has to justify his pay.

  57. This woman is sick to the bone. It is apparent that she does not think before talking; it is equally glaring that her husband cannot control her, which is an indication that he, the husband, the president is unworthy of leading this Nigeria.

All they have achieved is making over sized promises that don't just add up. At the end of the day the silent majority will finally have a say. They will speak up at the ballot box on the 28th of March.
