Shrien Dewani acquitted in honeymoon murder trial by SA judge

How did this happen? Why is the justice system in South Africa funny? Shrien Dewani, the British millionaire businessman accused of arranging his wife's murder during their honeymoon in South Africa in November 2010 was today cleared of any part in the murder.

The judge, Jeanette Traverso, dismissed the case against Shrien Dewani, because according to her 'the evidence presented by the prosecution fell "far below the threshold" of what a reasonable court could convict on. She said the evidence of the prosecution's main witness, taxi driver Zola Tongo, was "riddled with contradictions" and "highly debatable". Meaning sh didn't believe what he said in court.

Meanwhile, there was video showing Mr Dewani meeting with Tongo and giving him money days before the murder, but this was not enough to convict him. He will now be released.

The murdered wife, Anni Dewani's family including her sister Ami, brother Anish, and father Vinod (pictured above) - broke down after the ruling, and said they couldn't believe their sister didn't get any justice. They said they would suffer 'sleepless nights for the rest of their lives'.

I was in the hospital today in London when some Indians who knows the families were discussing this and I have learnt 2 lessons.....

Parents should stop forcing their children into marriage....this guy is gay and his parents forced him to marry a family friends daughter just to save face....

Women, I don't care how influencial your parents are don't let them force you into marriage....the girl wanted to call off the engagement when she became very uncomfortable with the relationship but they pressured her into staying.....

Ladies any act of violence from a man should never never ever be tolerated....you don't know how your case will end....women are always the losers in such cases and it's deeply disheartening.....they also said the guy was involved in a suspected murder case prior to this but nothing happened before he killed this girl...

All I know is that God will catch him one day....you can be sure this is your last bus top with all the evil u have done.......really sad

Regardless of your personal opinion, the law is the law and giving someone money days before murder was committed does not proof beyond reasonable doubt that you committed murder, that is the law!

In the United States some few years back, O.J Simpson got acquitted for murdering his estranged wife Nicole. To some extent, the evidence during the trial seemed a guily verdict was in order, yet the same evidence by virtue of the famous "if the glove fits" set him free.
Fast forward some 10+years later, O.J Simpson is now living in a Las Vegas jail (10yrs sentence) for an offense everyone thought was a setup to get him.
George Zimmerman was acquitted of murdering Trevon Martin in Florida; but guess what, he daily life of freedom is of hellish living. A leper has more hope than him.
GOD IS THE ULTIMATE JUDGE!! PUT YOUR TRUST IN HIM.

Well the judge is no prophet to decipher wot really went down. If the evidence weren't articulated enof to convict him, then d murderer did a very good job. Sowi 4 dia loss anywayz.
