In an operation led by the state's police commissioner, Abdulmajid Ali, men of the state police force in collaboration with some vigilante members, yesterday July 19th stormed the dilapidated & isolated building where they made the discovery. Continue...
Speaking with newsmen after the operation, the state Police commissioner said they were able to rescue two people from the den. He said the building will be demolished. He warned criminals to stay away from Imo state as the state Police command are working to rid the state of criminals.
Some residents of the village said they know that the house is owned by a man who though dead now, was greatly feared as he was a very mysterious person. They said they know he had an underground but did not know it was used to harbor kidnapped victims.
Na wah oh, there is so much desperation for wealth forgetting all is vanity. SMH!

ReplyDeleteI just wish the issue of unemployment can be effectively be tackled in this country. It will reduce crime
DeleteHow come the police that love to display people they rescue cannot show us the pictures of the kidnapped victims. I smell a rat here. Fro the story, the villagers were not comfortable .with the life style of the late landlord, perhaps he was a terror in his life time or they felt that that the house symbolizes evil. Thus calling the security operatives in a bid to demolish the structure.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, datz a gud job by our police men.
The rate of kidnapping & ritualist den uncover is becoming unbearable/ alarming

ReplyDeleteDestroying this building will not stop crime but it will be an economic loss to the state. The government should investigate more into the building and take it over if the need be. This act of destroying people's property because of one crime or the other is Itself a crime.
ReplyDeleteWe all needs to be more prayerful, watchful, vigilant, and informed...may God help and save us from the hands of these wicked people.
ReplyDeleteGood work..
