Samsung Introduces 24-Month Warranty on all Products

Head, Corporate Marketing, Donald Etim, Managing Director, Nicholas Shin and Head, Service Unit, Raymond Olatokun, all officials of Samsung Electronics West Africa at a Press Briefing to announce the commencement of Samsung 24 Month Warranty Service in Lagos on June 1, 2012.

Samsung Electronics West Africa, a leader in consumer electronics and digital convergence technologies today launched an extended standard factory warranty for customers on all products within its Mobile, Visual Display, IT Solutions, Digital Appliances, Digital Imaging and Digital Air Solutions product lines. Customers will now enjoy a 24-Month Warranty on all Samsung products purchased from the 1st of May 2012 at no extra charge.

In the past, the standard factory warranty on its product range was valid for 12 months. However, now consumers can experience more peace of mind with an additional 12 month extension. Starting from 1st May, 2012, all Samsung products will boast a minimum 24 month limited warranty from date of purchase, based on a valid proof of purchase. The increased warranty will cover labour and parts.

“This is a very exciting initiative for Samsung, and this increase in factory warranty is another way we are able to demonstrate the high quality of our products through the Built for Africa initiative,” says Raymond Olatokun, Head, Service Unit, Samsung Electronics West Africa. “In fact, as a leading consumer electronics brand, we are well aware of the need for consumers to have access to the very best service level agreements. This extended factory warranty ensures that we are able to continue to do just this - ensuring comprehensive service assistance in case of incidental product failure, giving consumers the confidence that they expect from a leading brand like Samsung.”

“A 12 month warranty is the general industry standard. Today, with the confidence we have in the quality of our product line – across categories - and of course, our focus on providing enhanced service levels for our consumers – our 24 month limited warranty positions our brand offering ahead of our competitors in Africa and we are sure that our consumers will positively respond to this increased service offering”, he enthused.

The warranty will apply to all relevant products that are purchased from Samsung’s leading retail partners in Africa. To validate this, consumers are encouraged to attach their proof of purchase to their warranty card and to store it in a safe place as this will be required when making a warranty claim. Additionally, consumers are advised to register any Samsung product they buy on the www.samsung.com Website, to ensure warranty claims are easy to manage.

These guys are taking Apple to the cleaners man. At Apple, abroad, you can just hand in your Iphone regardless of what continent you bought it.
This is a first for Lagos, Nigeria.
But I see a lot of complications. I don't mean to sound negative. My guys will just remove a component and then hand it in and say - Ah!! The phone no work nooow!!!
God bless Nigeria. And Awon Boys. 74
