Ex-NSA Dasuki says they acquired sophisticated weapens during last administration, provides photos

Immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) has shared some photos of weapons bought by the last administration for the fight against Boko Haram.

In an interview with PR Nigeria, Dasuki said among the weapons purchased includes Alpha jets, APCs, MRAP vehicles, advanced artillery pieces, assorted arms and ammunition, highly sophisticated surveillance drones, T72 and modified F7 supersonic jet fighters and that all the equipment were purchased in the last one year.

He said the weapons were used to recover over 22 territories from Boko Haram and that they were able to stop Shekau from carrying out any of his threats before and after the general elections Dasuki whose Abuja home was raided by SSS Officers last month over allegations of misappropriation of funds meant for the purchase of weapons, said

"The armored tanks have comprehensive NBC protection system, just as we deployed Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles that we bought and could withstand improvised explosive device (IED) attacks and ambushes. The vehicles had protected our troops from the land mine threats. We are glad that we also provided assorted Armoured Personnel Carriers to transport troops to the battlefield. They are armed for self-defence and to provide protection from attacks from shrapnel and small arms fire. All these were acquired in the last one year after years of frustration by Western powers who denied us of the equipment and sabotage our efforts to acquire same from other sources which are reasons for some delay in delivery.”

According to him, some other arms already paid for by the previous administration are due to be delivered soon. He added that certain elements frustrated their efforts towards purchasing weapons.
“It was unfortunate that some elements are frustrating the efforts as we even had to query some suppliers for delay in delivery of arms and ammunition. We utilized some of these equipment to recover more than 22 local governments under Boko Haram terrorists and ensured that Shekau did not disrupt the 2015 election as he had threatened. Not only did we ensure that the elections were peaceful, Shekau has never spoken to threaten anyone again since then.” Responding to some of his critics, he said: “In attempt to rubbish individuals for whatever reasons, political or otherwise, we should be careful not to rubbish sensitive institutions and their personnel that might still be in active the service. It is unfortunate that some elements hide under the cover of anonymity in the media to rubbish some of the sacrifices we made. They should take the courage to come out publicly by identifying themselves with their baseless allegations. ”he said

    5. The amount of Criticism the APC attacked the GEJ administration with is just totally unfair..for the sake of power tussle...small small truth will beging to prevail...4years will go by really fast and it will be pay back time for d APC and Pa Buhari...the way Dasuki spoke here mentioning names or toys is just so proffesional compared to d nonsense the chief of army staff did, talkin like a lame and recruit military man...GEJ may not be a saint but he sure isn't as worse as thes guys have paraded him..it even makes me laff when OBJ who ruled for 12years takes a swipe at him...everything went bad under OBJ..GEJ tried his best within 5years..we are watching Pa Buhari's cuz they seem to hv a loud mouth

With these evil men in d background who already hv such devilish agenda???, now they want to negotiate..let Pa Buhari fight na...tot he campaigned using his General and military background as loud speaker....do generals negotiate with Terrorist???

    7. I salute u Dasuki,it takes guts to speak out in dis govt we are. If he is lieing dey will start screaming. So let's wait. However anyone who travelled from lagos around d time dis weapons arrived will testify to seeing dem been transported to d north. For all those who wuld see nothing good in d last administration, ask drivers who ply lagos-benin-abj to confirm.if dey didn't see,den their colleagues wuld have told dem. And for d record during d final part of Gejs tenure, when areas are captured from boko haram we see pics of armourd tanks, large numbers of 4*4 vehicles, rpgs and vehicle mounted machine guns destroyed or recovered. It waz war! Now it's motor cycles and ak47s like armed robbers. We shuld stop playing politics with people's lives.boko haram was almost wiped out at d end of d last administratn.wat we see now is a show and a sacrifice of innocent lives for gullible nigerians to bliev d war is still on. And it's disgusting.

    8. Honestly I dnt care anymore. Every one makes Jonathan seem like the worst evil that happened to nigeria as if obj and ibb were saints. It doesn't prevent me from still liking the man. As for the negative media always surrounding him, God will still bring everything to light one day.
One thing m perfectly sure of is that northerners didn't want him there, and they made sure to make his tenure bitter and ungovernable. No1 would still want to be president after going through all Jonathan went through on that seat, who knows why he campaigned to come back.

The service chiefs and soldiers that said they didn't have weapons aren't APC.The service chiefs were appointed by the pdp government while the poor soldiers only shouted out to save their necks.

At what point will we begin to use that free thing called a brain inside our skull to think rather than your anus?!

Knowing government,be it the past, present or future,if these equipments truly came in and were functional, not the helicopters that they bought but crashed during test run,a huge media circus unveiling would have been utilized to show GEJ IS WORKING as the elections drew near.

Do you really think that the SA fighters were using achaic weaponry?. Also the journalist went on board a state of the art war plane and was short of words on how to describe what he felt being on board. Nigerians really are their own worst enemies.

  31. Please speak directly to fellow service chiefs who publicly came out to say no equipments have been purchased since 2006 sir.

The enemies you all seem to refer to are within. And I always comment under anonymous for personal reasons though I know with technology, anyone who has a spare one minute can trace this. That's why I NEVER write what I have no physical proof of.

Having said this sir, billions was released to battle the insurgency, what you have shown us in the pictures released doesn't even scratch the surface of B,without going all the way to the ILLIONS!!!

Kindly also send pictures or ask some of your loyalists as we all have people that'll stand by us through thick or thin to show these equipments where they presently are(at least the AMT'S etc).

Anyone can print pictures sir but I choose not to doubt you.Why then do the soldiers that face these lunatics (BH) and the the service chiefs insist no equipments were bought?Did Col Dasuki purchase but forgot to hand over to the end users?Did the end users deliberately sabotage their lives by fighting without ammunition because they preferred to die? Please lets reason when these men issue their press statements.Enough of the stories!

If we can recall,a video was released by BH sometime last year where they showed our men running for their lives cos they ran out of ammunition,

Ammunition for petes sake is easily accessible.Even ordinary kidnappers have in excess.Col Dasuki and the rest of those who took an oath of office to protect us shall perish and feel pain greater than the families of all who have lost someone since this menace started.

If however, you took the oath and in the eyes of the all knowing GOD,you and all involved are innocent, nothing untoward or evil shall happen to you.

If you are guilty, you will reap the fruits on earth as well as in the after life.Shikena!
