Why I chose Osinbajo as running mate – Buhari

APC Presidential flag-bearer, Gen Muhammadu Buhari yesterday stated reasons why he chose Prof Yemi Osibajo as his running mate for next year's general election. Below is what he said;
"To assist me in this great task of securing Nigeria’s future, I have chosen a man of unimpeachable integrity, an excellent professional, a man of faith, a devoted family man and a role model to our fellow countrymen and women. He is a professor of law and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. An alumnus of the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics, he is a prodigious author who has to his credit several books on civil procedure in Nigerian superior courts.
The Vice-Presidential candidate is a friend of the less privileged, compassionate and zealous in service. A man of uncommon humility, a loyal, dependable and selfless patriot. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who by the grace of God and the vote of Nigerians will be the next Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Buhari said.

    2. I'm surprised that none of President Jonathan's attack dogs and internet foot-soldiers has been able to bring any
      allegation against Professor Yemi Osibajo.
      The APC Vice Presidential candidate is an epitome of integrity in all ramification, he is without blemish!

  59. Issues affecting the people should be center on GMB campaign. Issues like improving the power (electricity) output, security of lives and properties, eradication of corruption, improving the economy, road rehabilitation, improving education to breed new crop of scientists and engineers that will usher us into industrialization, increasing and strengthening the middle-class, promoting small business and giving them access to loans/grants, better healthcare, reducing the rising cost of living and improving the dwindling revenue, further diversifying our economy and di-vesting money from oil revenue into other profitable and sustainable sectors, acknowledging the good projects embarked by the current administration (no matter how few) and build upon such to allow for continuity, understand the strengths and potentials (opportunity) of each state in the country and encourage and empower states to be ingenious and innovative about developing from inside-out- by so doing more citizens of such states would be economically better. GMB should have a theme around “securing the future of the country”. He needs to run a disciplined campaign team with no drama but focused on issues.

    but the questions we as xtians should ask ourself is "is the VP going to be a puppet or a man of his own"
    they are tryna make pple forget that the aim of the major candidate is to islamise 9ja, ie d spread of sharia law throughput nigeria. is that what we want???

    I suspect he (the vp candidate) would end up as a figure head, and would only support what the President wants to do, its d president that counts and not the vp, how often do u hear the vp this or the vp that,

    the inclusion of the pastor is just to get xtians votes and its even possible something happens and the vp is replaced later on or is just dormant..... as dormant as GEJ was as a VP b4 he became acting president and then president

  109. Hausa people with their desperation and tactics for Power, at all cost.Babangida (IBB) did more than this during his time. Imagine the number of Yoruba's academicians he used to achieve his agendas and rubbished them at the end of the day.Remember all the laudable programs that all this academicians designed for him for the good of Nigerians but none of those programs saw the light of the day. IBB used southerners especially Yorubas to have the most commendable programs than any Nigerian leaders so far but only to deceive Nigerians. My fellow Nigerians, shine your eyes!!!Our biggest problem so far in Nigeria is a Patriotic LEADER(President). Not necessarily the VP (Vice President) because Leader dictates the tunes.Though the two could have been the best necessity for the Country if only they share a common interest, a common ideologies, a common missions, a common Languages and a common Visions for Nigeria and Nigerians. But in Nigeria context, what is the use of an academician that is powerless? What is the use of an academician that is being control, directed and managed by a short sighted leader? What is the use of an academician that even if He designed or proposed a good programs but once it does not favor his boss, it will not be implemented but only displayed to fool the public? What is the use of an academician that cannot challenge and questioning the authority of his boss? Just a Puppet! Going by Nigeria history, this has been a Northern tactics to lay claim to their born to rule mentality. May God's will be done on Nigeria.

That was why He said it in the Bible that,Be wise as serpent and as diligent as Doves.I was reading some comment but felt pity with some people's mentality about this so called Pastors syndrome. Comment such as, "Thank God the man is a Pastor.Thank God He is a Redeemer.Thank God he is a Professor.Another one said, he is a devoted Christian and Buhari is a devoted Muslim so iron sharpen iron.Really in Nigeria? I wonder why some people always loose their sense of reasons when it comes to the issue of this so call religion.I wonder why some people cannot reason objectively and constructively. No wonder it was so easy for this your so call pastors to manipulate you. No wonder they are leaving in wealthy while you that they are taken from are leaving in abject poverty, all in the name of God.Gullible people! This is why we have and we will continuing to have lot of commercial pastors around because they know some people are to gullible when it comes to religion. This is the same sense Buhari is using for you gullible individual people. I wonder why you cannot read the hands writing on the walls. Don't you get Buhari's message to you CHRISTIAN, that you are all FOOL? Don't you think that its an INSULT of the highest order for Buhari and his Muslim clique to be playing on your intelligent? If Buhari was that so patriotic and meant good for you and Nigeria, even though he has a personal or political differences with Jonathan but seen the way and the rate people are being killed by Boko Haram, why did he not put his whatever differences aside and joined hand with Jonathan to fight these evil people? Why does he has to wait until he is elected president to do this? If he has taken this single action, this would have proved his honesty and patriotism for the country and believe me, this man would have won my Vote. In Western world, particularly in America during the 9/11 attacked in America, opposition party put their differences aside and joined hands with the incumbent party to fight a common enemy against America. In such situation,No Democrat, No Republican.I am not comparing us to America but at the same time it still their politics we pretend to be copying. I am a constructive Christian, I am not campaigning for Jonathan but seen the tactic employed by Buhari and his Islamic clique, I believed that a Devil we know is better than a Saint we do not know. May God's will be done on Nigeria.

  122. Fellow Nigerians pls never vote for a president because of his/her vice. The vice president is, most times, a stooge, a rubber-stamp. Always remember that. God bless Nigeria.

  127. To win over Nigeria, Buhari thought of a religious leader and one from a well known congregation. However, what he doesn't know is that Nigerians are wiser than that. We cannot be blinded by all the gibberish and throw our votes to the wrong candidate. Nigeria needs a leader, someone who can effect change in our society, and I don't believe Buhari is that person, and neither is Jonathan, but better to give the known devil a chance than the unknown. It is also unfortunate as he chose a good man per say to cover his shit.

    Lets pray Nigeria gets redeemed in the end, however not with Buhari, except people truly change.

  129. I felt what we need at this point is change.never criticize a pastor going into politics. leaders are suppose to be God fearing not going away with public funds, deceiving people and doing all sorts.
    let once again test new people as those we have now can not take us to the promise land.
    Those we have now might b our Moses while the change that is coming might be our Joshua and Caleb.Long live Nigeria
