Looks like presidency may have given money to Chibok parents

There are reports that the presidency gave Chibok parents N100million after they met with him last week, a report that they've since denied. But from this tweet above from #bringbackourgirls convener, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, it looks like it may be true.

So the money was given to them for what? Is it okay to give them money?

  13. Like I always say, I don't know why I see things very different from the way majority do. I don't see any thing wrong in giving them money. It could help cover their transportation, money they could not earn since the period of the kidnap, and some other necessaries they may need at this trying period. Honestly, apart from finding their missing girls, they also need financial help. This is my opinion.Rose

    1. Hello rose,I don't think they should not have collected it.but what I'm saying is why the secretive route.the government should have done it openly if their money reasons are pure.

Just read a statement from presidential spokesperson Doyin Okupe that the presidency never gave them money, that it was a plan to embarrass the government.

  19. Honestly Linda, i can not understand the stand of Mrs Ezekwesili on this Chibok girls' kidnap debacle. The way she is demonising President Jonathan one will think that President Jonathan actually kidnapped or ordered the kidnap of the girls. She is personalising this unfortunate incident to a nauseating level to the extent of becoming an obnoxious nuisance. What is her on in the matter? A classic case of a lousy interloper crying more than the bereaved. Please call her to order because she is now embarrassing us, Hdi-Igbo.

  43. Well giving dem money is nt exactly paying them off,it wnt bring back the great kids but neither will the president nt giving them anyfn will. The man is just trying to do anything possible to lighten their burden which of course nothing can replace their kids. These are dark days for them and that's when hope is need ed the most,no matter how buried it gets or how lost they feel we have to hold unto hope! Keep it alive... my wish for us all is to become hope, people need that! And even if we fail, what better way is there to live!
