Braids are gradually coming back...thanks Beyonce..:-)

Since Beyonce debuted her super long braids in May, the hairstyle is gradually coming back in style, with some celebs dumping weaves for braids. Pictured above are ex-beauty queens Agbani Darego and Fiona Amuzie who are currently rocking the hairstyle. But sorry boo boo, give me weaves any day. Braids finished my front hair...I'm done with it permanently! Thank you very much!

Linda is ignorant! I follow a ton of fashion blogs and braids came back in style long before Beyonce even gave birth to Blue Ivy, so what are you saying? Just because Nigerians are always years late on everything doesn't mean the return of braids are attributed to Beyonce.

Linda, I'm even sure you have no edges.Keep screaming weaves weaves weaves.

Braids never really go out of style. Beyoncé always rocks braids when she's not touring.

    6. Linda, if your hair is susceptible to erosion, try massaging Jamaican Black castor oil or just plain castor oil on the site of erosion. It works! In doubt? Google it

Because Beyonce rocked it, you've attributed it to her. Pls give credit to whom credit is due. I don't know the world you're living in. Bad part, the two people you used as examples come from where braiding happens like no man's business.

  57. My dear braids never went anywhere. They have always been in vogue for those who have been weaving all these while. As for your own, maybe you don't have good front hairline cos you eternal weaves still won't do u good. Unless now you've learnt to do invisible closing abi parting.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Are you fucking kidding me? Must you Bey worshippers attribute everything from the sun rising in the morning to your beans-perfumed farts sounding like gunshots to Beyonce? No, really?

  59. LInda na wa o. My Naija People(minus you) stay rocking their braids, iv seen pictures of Tonto Dike, Omotola and a few others in gorgeous braids and so have the international celebrities like Tyra and Jada among others. So if this article is to show your followership of Beyonce thats fine but let it be known that the ladies have been rocking braids way before beyobce. mstchewww!

  60. Hahahahha linda, come let me give u some front hair.

    ReplyDelete
  61. u re right @ Linda.......stil prefers weaves to braid...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Linda, it's because you allow them pull your front hair too tight for the perfect finish Nigerian stylists are known for instead of trying to save your hair. Just like me then, you didn't know better. I have succeeded in re growing my hair and my front hair is almost touching my brows. Yaaaaayyyyyyyy. Contrary to beliefs, Nigerian, African hair does grow. Yup. Check the Internet for a whole lot of wealth of information. You'll be amazed at the things you can do to/for your hair from your kitchen ingredients. Lol.

  63. How can Beyonce an American be the one bringing back braids. Braids dont ever go out of vogue. Its our trademark hair as Africans. Beyonce copies from us, never the other way round.

  72. And you are still fixing weaves?. That's the number 1 culprit in hair breakage. Why don't you just spend the money you use in getting your weaves on your own real.hair? I don't get how y'all are willing to invest thousands on fake hair and ignore what is growing out of your scalp. #food for thoughts

    ReplyDelete
  73. we Africans rock braid all d time, I don't see anything special about Beyonce bringing back braid. so funny....

    ReplyDelete
  74. Stop giving unnecessary credit. Linda. People have always rocked braids n will always do.

    ReplyDelete
  75. But Agbani had braids in Feb or March for that former MBGN's wedding. Way before Beyoncé "debuted her super long braids in May"

  91. How can Linda ever make the mistake of attributing the popularity of briads to Beyounce.....I do take exception to it. And again briads is one of those hairdo's that never goes out of fashion, if you like fix Brazilian, Peruvian or Indiana sef....last last na braid go end am. It is the official African hair style.

  95. A friend said to me 'you should go on braid more often'

    ReplyDelete
  96. Linda, na wa o. When did braids go out of fashion? Even in the US, people have been installing braids. Please don't credit anybody to bringing back what was never out of fashion. Braids is a style so never goes out of fashion or trend, it would always be around.

As for your front hair, you need to take care of it even while rocking your weaves. Go to any pharmacy and get a bottle of castor oil (the one used for constipation), apply to your hairline/edges at least 3-4 days in a week and you should see some serious improvement. I know what i am saying because i lost all my edges to braids as i have weak/fine hair at my hairline. My edges are now back and doing very well (if i do say so myself). You can check out my before and after pictures on my blog (click on hair post).
