Photos emerge of police shootout with suspected Boston bombers

A Watertown resident took photos of the dramatic shootout between policemen and suspected Boston bombers, brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the early hours of Friday April 19th. The photos have just been released to the media

The photo above shows the brothers hiding behind a car as they engage in a dramatic shootout with police. See more photos after the cut...

The resident who took the photographs with his phone from a third-floor bedroom overlooking the scene, said the men ran to the green sedan, left, for more supplies such as explosives.

In another image, a red circle shows what the eyewitness believed to be a pressure cooker bomb

After detonating the bomb and filling the street with smoke, the youngest brother jumped in the car and ploughed towards the police officers lining the end of the residential street

As he drove the car, his older brother was taken down by police. His body is circled

When the gun battle was over, police rushed to where the green sedan was parked and announced there were other devices on the street, sparking a search

This image shows a blast mark on the ground from where the pressure cooker bomb exploded

As daylight broke, the witness took photos of the abandoned sedan and backpacks

Police swarm the street to check all the houses. The witness' home was then evacuated

    1. My dear is a huge staged attack....sources ur net nd get informations. The FBI hv lots of questions to answer. They got a warning call abt dis attack and didn't do anything to stop it. They were warned by the Russian govt abt the dead suspect..again they disregarded it. They knew something was gonna happen if not while bring bomb detective dogs to the marrathon? Biko ndi usa ma deir plan. Can't be bothered abt that...wen we ve lost more than 2000 innocents soul to same attack in Nigeria.

  2. The main issue here is for Nigerian Government to borrow a leap from US. Nigerians need security, if the government can't provide this, the purpose for the establishment of a government has been defeated!

  10. In a very weird way I feel for their parents. I watched the dads interview on TV and he seemed like a regular dad. He claims when he spoke to the older brother last, he told him, "watch over that your younger brother, all he knows are friends and partying. He needs to study, study, study".

That really made me sad. their dad only wanted the best for them but yet once again, the religion of confusion and hate got to them

  14. Yeah, the US is a nation with many enemies. That's why they had to prove to the world that the two russian brothers are indeed terrorist. Thank God for the resident who took photographs of the whole scenario. This has authenticated the claim by the FBI that indeed the brothers are terrorist. Well, obviously the reason why this is bothering the US is because most nations of the world see the US as bullies having all the tricks in the book. Thank God the conspiracy theory claiming the russian brothers are innocent is now a thing of the past.kudos to the FBI.

  18. This will soon happen in Nigeria while I am still alive, where you will see our police facing criminals one on one. Those guys did a really good job because their country is worth dieing for unlike what we have here in Nigeria.
Our leaders will soon learn to be honest and have the fear of God.

  19. 1)Why did it take them days to publish this photos

2)What about the other men on dark shades also carrying back packs at the scene of the crime

3)Why has the FBI been stalking the boys and having dinner with their mom

4)Why is it they killed the eldest and now mysteriously the younger suddenly injured his throat and can't talk

5)Why is the man they allegedly kidnapped not been interviewed by the media or was he another government agent.

  29. I bliv these guys are innocent. The elder brother just got involved in something that brought them to ruin. For the younger one the stories make no sense, , there's a picture of him coming out of the boat unhurt, and theres another one of him on the ground yet they say he was shot from the previous nights shoot out. They shot his neck &they are gonna mess with his mind.

  30. I'm a little concerned that american's hv killed the wrong suspects... the stories dont just add up... there were pics that showed the brothers walking one behind the other, how come with all the security cameras that picked the boys, there was none that showed men dropping off the bags containing the explosives? secondly, they said the late tamerlan had explosive on him at the time he was killed, how come there are no pics to show exactly what he was carrying considering that there are speculations on the type of explosives that where used. it's sketchy and there are loads of questions..... i think america is up to something.

  31. The pictures probably came out late because the photographer was waiting to sell it to the highest bidder. Only a mumu will keep screaming conspiracy after all the evidence open for the world to see.

  33. Nigeria should learn, Nigeria should learn. It has been repeated so frequently it's lost its purpose. What should Nigeria learn? With slates and native chalk? How many camcorders or cctv cameras do we have? (The suspects were first spotted by CCTV -- Amateur BTW.)

You people are more interested in cooked-up conspiracies than trying to save your country. Your police has no intelligence; In investigating, it only works with 'E be like say.' They would even defend terrorists to avoid a confrontation (Johnathan: "It's not MEND" MEND: "It's Us" GOVT: "Nah Not them".) 185 people died weeks ago and what were people's reaction; "Shei ya" and they are back to their pots of soup -- It's become normal.

Infact, How many people can come out and protest against the BH boys as we now call them? How many bloggers can write a moving post challenging the nonsensical killings in Nigeria (Yes I'm talking to you, Lindi. Omoluwa style is just about complaining)

I don't judge anybody. Even me sef dey write under anonymous label, but just think about your lives. Like the brave man, who help confirm the hand of justice on the Boston bombers -- you too could help uncover the BH boys.

But abeg no talk say na me send you ooo. Linda please post this
