Victim of horrific Indian gang rape dies in Singapore hospital

Indian police today sealed off parts off New Delhi and appealed for calm after the death of a woman gang-raped on a bus in the city. The woman was flown to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore for treatment 10 days after she was brutally attacked by six men who inserted an iron rod into her body on December 16. In response to the attack, the Indian government has promised to publicise photos, names and addresses of convicted rapists following days of widespread protests.

President Barack Obama just awarded a young Nigerian man with a very terrible genetic disease - Neurofibromatosis, permanent residence in the US and as such access to a US medical school. This hardly ever passes congress but because of his peculiar situation, it worked.

26th year old Victor Chukwueke came to the US eleven years ago to undergo treatment for massive face tumors and lived in Michigan on an expired visa. He graduated from a state university and wanted to attend a medical school but needed to have permanent residency for that to happen.

Private bills, which only applies to one person and mostly focus on immigration, are rarely approved. Victors is the only one to pass in US Congress in two years.

Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes massive life-threatening tumors to the face.

Despite the fact that some weeks have passed since the fire disaster that wiped out five children of Mr. & Mrs. Augustine Ikwuagwu on Comfort Oboh Street, Kirikiri Town, Lagos, its bitter memory still lingers. Youtube strips 2billion fake video views from Rihanna, Justin Bieber and others

Some of these pop stars are artificial inflating their video views on Youtube to make themselves appear more popular online. Youtube chiefs recently stripped 2 billion views from pop videos on its site amid fears the figures were faked.

Rihanna, Justin Bieber and other music stars under Universal Music label lost 1 billion views.
Rita Ora, Alicia Keys, Labrinth and other music stars under Sony Music label lost 850 million views.
Michael Jackson's feed lost 287 million views, while Beyonce lost 151 million views

Youtube stripped the views without suggesting the music stars or their labels were directly involved in artificially inflating them. Some fans who are hackers could have inflated them, or maybe the labels paid the 'hackers' to take up the numbers. Depends on what you chose to believe :-)

Frustrated and angered by the development, some of the affected students who gave account of what happened battled emotions while narrating their situations to Saturday Vanguard recently. They however pleaded with the school authorities to tamper justice with mercy in order to save their future.

Kogi State Governor involved in auto crash. ADC dies instantly

The Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada and his aides were involved in a fatal car accident this afternoon along the bad Abuja - Lokoja expressway. His ADC, Idris Mohammed died instantly while the governor was rushed to the Emergency Ward of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja. He was later moved to the Government House Hospital.

The governor and his convoy were returning from an official assignment and were close to Lokoja when the accident occurred.

Fire at Ex-President Obasanjo’s Hilltop Mansion

A section of ex-president Obasanjo's hilltop mansion in Abeokuta, which was used as an office, was gutted by fire yesterday Thursday December 27th.

Obasanjo was not home when the fire started around 4pm yesterday but his wife, children and grandchildren were home. They were quickly evacuated from the building. The inferno, which destroyed computers, office appliances and furniture, was said to have have been caused by an electrical fault.

The fire spread to other parts of the building and even affected Obasanjo's bedroom. It was eventually put out by the state Fire Service.

Actress Monalisa Chinda was conspicuously absent at close friend/business partner, Emem Isong's Christmas party which held at the top producer's Lekki home yesterday December 27th. Emem Isong also shunned Monalisa's 'Dance for Life' event which held December 24th at Oriental Hotel.

The two friends are currently not on speaking terms over a business deal that went bad a few months ago. Monalisa and Emem were not just close friends, they worked on quite a number of movie projects together. Close friends of the former friends told me that the unresolved issue between them is not a big deal, but the ladies are refusing to apologize to each other and reconcile.

Indian tea workers burn their boss and his wife to death

Tea plantation workers torched the home of their boss, killing both him and his wife, following a labour dispute in the northeastern Indian state of Assam, officials said on Thursday.

Around 1,000 workers at the privately-owned M.K.B. Tea Estate attacked the plantation owner's bungalow on Wednesday and set it on fire in violence blamed on festering labour unrest in the tea-growing region, police said.

Mridul Bhattacharya and his wife Rita were burned to death as workers armed with home-made weapons prevented police from rescuing them, they said.

The Love Me Jeje crooner bought his wife a brand new 2010 Mercedes Benz GL 450 SUV said to be worth N10m, as a gift for her 40^th birthday celebration. 

The American based Afro Soul artiste presented the car to his wife, Tolu Sodimu, while on summer vacation in Washington DC. The car has been shipped into the country and Mrs Sodimu took delivery of it just in time for the Christmas.
