Now imagine the feeling you get when they tell you; "sorry sir, the promo was for the first 41 pple and you are the 170th person" Despite the fact you got to the store when they were just opening the gates. Isn't this a joke ? Anyway nice try NOKIA and SLOT... Linda if you like no post.

ReplyDeletelinda, i called callus miller in Ph and they said the phone is fro N115,000.00 .
ReplyDeleteA good show of well thought regards for the vox populi but truly, 41 people will get the phone. My question is how many more will get injured or worse....... If you've been to the SLOT locations stated above, you'd realize that it is not the best location for such a competitive event. Then again, just my noble observation ! ! ! ! !
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm.. This is not fair o. Why didn't they include towns like Aba where there are also licenced Nokia dealers? Make dem include Aba o. Before I get to PH dem go don pass 50 sef.
ReplyDeleteFirst time, I will comment on your post even though I have your page as one of my bookmark. Just want to tell you to get ready to remove a stampede come Saturday. First 41 people right? In that crowded Lagos, Nokia had better get the Emergency response squad on ground...

The megapixel myth was started by camera makers and swallowed hook, line and sinker by camera measurebators. Camera makers use the number of megapixels a camera has to hoodwink you into thinking it has something to do with camera quality. They use it because even a tiny linear resolution increase results in a huge total pixel increase, since the total pixel count varies as the total area of the image, which varies as the square of the linear resolution. In other words, an almost invisible 40% increase in the number of pixels in any one direction results in a doubling of the total number of pixels in the image. Therefore camera makers can always brag about how much better this week's camera is, with even negligible improvements.
ReplyDeleteThis gimmick is used by salespeople and manufacturers to you feel as if your current camera is inadequate and needs to be replaced even if the new cameras each year are only slightly better.
One needs at least a doubling of linear resolution or film size to make an obvious improvement. This is the same as quadrupling the megapixels. A simple doubling of megapixels, even if all else remained the same, is very subtle. The factors that matter, like color and sharpening algorithms, are far more significant.
The megapixel myth is also prevalent because men always want a single number by which something's goodness can be judged.
Unfortunately, it's all a myth because the number of megapixels (MP) a camera has has very little to do with how the image looks. Even worse, plenty of lower MP cameras can make better images than poorer cameras with more MP.
Ready for it after eating my sahari.
ReplyDeleteGlad its during Fasting Period.
I intend to sell Mine shat, if i dont like it

ReplyDeleteHey,hey,is it really worth all de trouble?

ReplyDeleteThe quality of all the products destined for Nigeria is always below what the standard is,becos we have no regulations and no good governance!
If they like, they should hawk it in front of my house for 5k,I no want!
Good promotion/deal, I hope it will be done with transparency!

ReplyDeleteThey're thieves...was there today and those Nokia reps gave out less than 20 and came out to say it had finished. They didn't give out the tripod as well saying they will contact those that got it. They're thieves, big big thieves and it is very unfair that as Nigerians we treat ourselves like this.

ReplyDeleteWhao! Linda, if i say i should pray for you, i might start raining causes on you without knowing. Its me Black Lampard once again. Sincerely speaking the Nokia 808 Pure view is a phone everyone should have. I got to CALLUS MILLER at Aba Road here in Port Harcourt as early as 5:45am, i actually went for a vigil and decided not to sleep that much so that i wouldn't miss this great opportunity. Fortunately i was the first person there and sincerely speaking it was worth the waiting because the interview section made me look like one big celebrity. Linda i say thank you once again. Permit me to say this I LOVE YOU for this great opportunity you gave me to experience what its like to be a celebrity. Thanks once again the phone is making sense. I remain Black Lampard.
ReplyDeleteBlack Lampard you must really be lucky. But I was at SLOT here in Abuja at about 8:15am and by that time they claimed they already had 41 names. But they had a supplementary list which I wrote my name on. I was number 10 on that list. At 10:41 when the whole thing started, they called the names and almost 20 people were disqualified from the first list either because they were not represented or because they couldn't provide any means of identity. But instead of the Nokia rep calling from the supplementary list, he went inside and return with a big empty carton after some minutes and showed us that it had finished. Nokia was supposed to be connecting people but instead they disconnected me that morning. After entering the rain, I still got cheated. Linda if you were paid to put that advert on your blog, I really think it is your duty to report some of these fraudulent acts. A woman over there cried. Not because she didn't get the phone but because she was cheated. There was a pregnant woman there again who would have gotten if they had been fair. When I complained to the official, he said I shud go and call the press. I was actually skeptical bout it because of the Nigerian factor thing. That same Nokia rep wud be among those claiming Nigeria isn't moving forward, yet with this little position of his, he can't even do the right thing. Anyway shit happens, it hurts though..I'll keep praying for my country.
