Northern youths warn Asari Dokubo; say they're not afraid of war

Northern youths under the umbrella of Arewa Youth Forum have asked Ijaw Leader, Chief Edwin Clark; and militant youths leader, Asari Dokubo, to mind what they say publicly about their region as it could lead to the disintegration of the country. A statement from the National President of the AYF, Mr. Gambo Gujungu, below
People like Clark and Asari had forgotten that the region was the mainstay of the Nigerian state before the discovery of oil. It is pertinent to let the war mongers know that the North is not afraid of war. But we are advocates of peace. We are not war mongers and will not and will never call for war within the polity of Nigeria.
But we are bothered that Asari Dokubo, Edwin Clark and co are turning President Goodluck Jonathan into an Ijaw leader instead of the President of the Federal republic of Nigeria that he is.

“Having taken a keen interest and appraisal of what has been happening in the Nigerian polity of recent culminating in the recent outburst and frontal attack on the North by the leader of Niger Delta People Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, we have deem it necessary to react as follows.

“Let it be known that the youths of the North under the umbrella of the AYF are peace loving people who believe in the peaceful coexistence of Nigeria and has been working and will continue to work for the peaceful co existence of the country.

“Asari should know that some of us are quite aware of the type of person he is. We know his antecedents and the type of person he is. The Volunteer Force leader is not the one to threaten any body and should not continue in the way of threat or else we will be force to expose him for who he truly is.”

The country is broke, Minister of finance has just announced that they r going to be burrowing billions of Dollarsto pay for the 2013 budget and these northerners r busy pointing fingers at Asari Dokubor and Pa Edwin Clark! Clark has categorically told Babangida to come out and condemn Boko Haram if he does not support them.
Babangida has not done so.The same Babangida who was very vocal in letting the world know that the PDP zoning formula that elected President Jonathan favours the North. All of a sudden,he is gone quiet when ppl r being slaughtered like animals in the North! De ja Vu again!

But if it were to be a war for the emancipation of the collective, then perhaps it would be a war worth fighting.

BH is what we should all join hands together to fight not ourselves. A southerner doesn't hv to hate a notherner.I reserve my comment on asari dokubo nd co. All these our leaders ( tribal and political) hv a lot to gain if war breaks out,so let's be wise.remember BH are not only bombing southerners, they bomb their fellow notherners too in the process (Christian). The British that joined different tribes with different natures/philosophies together knew exactly what they were doing, no unity/no progress and no one to stand against their control of our natural resources.
I just dont trust the southerners to carry out their threats - the presidency will settle them and they will prefer to live to enjoy their loot; as for the northerners, human life is not worth cow dung to them, they will enjoy their settlement and blw themselves up thereafter without qualms.
Only a powerful divine intervention can resolve this quagmire.

Gej is just an unfortunate target.it probably would haveen worse if a buhari was to be d president. This ppl wants to create a genuine reason for the populace to welcome the military,if they should struck tomoorrow.

We might not be feeling the impact of all the economic reforms but these fellows are not finding it funny losing taps that flowed billions into their coffers.

Boko haram is meant to cause the ordinary mumu on the street to start reminiscing about the military govt and how they would have handled issues differently.

Once they get you and i disenchanted enough with jonathan, they will move to the barracks to recruit boys to carry out the deal.

Already, they seem to be succceeding with our somtimes thoughtless criticism of govt. Actions.

The more trenchant we are with our criticism, the closer the d day draws nearer.

Naija, from all corner be wise and defend this democracy. Look for the good in govt to emphasize b4 long they will abandone this strategy.

I feel not all Northern Youths are in Support of Boko Haram. But they can be the voice Boko Haram may hear. They are brothers, they understand each others language. If the AYF want peace in Nigeria, they should tell tell Boko haram to seize fire permanently not responding to aggrieved Citizens who are annoyed and showing disgust of the boko haram sag, which is only natural for a normal human being

Is that too difficult a thing to ask for, the clown is busy talking about war, he should please come and tell us when the north had its agricultural golden era, was the south not contributing with its rubber, oil palm, cashew, etc. Even the oil from the south now is enjoyed mainly by the North. please tell these ragos that we are all ready for war, we are tired of the madness and the reign of fear that boko haram surreptiuously supported by by AFC, the elites and religious leaders in the north have allowed, Must the north be in power to have peace, common we are no slaves to the north.
