How my driver ran away with my Camry car - From a LIB reader

The driver, Ayu Nurudeen                                              Missing car

Yes, another Camry car! Jeez! Below is a mail I got from a LIB reader...
Dear Linda, will like you to publish a story of my missing car/picture of my missing car and driver. Its not really about the car (2007 Camry SE with plate no LAGOS CB 520 AGL). It could have been worse. I took this man Mr Ayu Nurudeen, (a Ghanaian) my driver in. Gave him accommodation and feeding. I even bought his praying jalabia because he's muslim and fasting and still he ran away with my car. I have sent this man to the bank with huge sums of money and he never took it. I guess all these were in preparation for his big move. He even got asoebi for my traditional wedding last month.
However, On the 30th of july, we went to corporate affairs commission (CAC) yaba. As you know, its hard to find parking in yaba so he dropped me at the entrance and went to find parking. We go to CAC weekly so I knew the places he would usually park. On this day, I got to cac at about 2pm. Around 2.30pm I called him to come and pick me up as I was done. He answered" madame am coming". This my driver is still coming till now. At first I was worried that maybe LASTMA had carried him or he was involved in an accident, I walked to the two nearby police stations and accident units but no record of my driver or car. It wasn't till 5pm that I realised this isn't any mistake or accident that my driver had gone away with my. I had my handbag and wallet all in the car. I had no money with me. I had to find my way home.

When I got home. My cook discovered that my drivers suitcase and the cooks dvd were missing. He had packed his things before that day.

We have reported to the police but we are yet to get any response. This is a picture of my driver and the missing camry.

  3. This LIB reader must be a big madam. She has cook and driver. Then 2007 camry should be of small value to her.
Just buy a 2012 camry and hire another driver. It is as simple as that.

    1. True i totally agree with this. This person isn't Ghanaian. The first and last names are not Ghanaian names. It is very easy to acquire a Ghanaian passport this days unfortunately.

I pray you find this man and get him arrested. And i hope you get your car back. So sorry for your loss.

  11. Because a monkey is wearing a suit, you call it a hunk. We should be careful. Most people who walk the streets of Lagos nowadays are not who they say they are. Please install a car tracker in the next car you buy or allow a driver in. it really helps. A lady was able to track her school bus from Onitsha all the way to Kano. The driver ran away with it. May God help us all. Remain prayerful. I pray you find your car. Evergreen....

  16. Did anyone pause to imagine this guy went missing? Is the car more important than a human being? He has carried money to the bank before and never disappeared (wasn't he carrying the money with the car)? Hey, please we need to drop the pessimism and embrace some flavor of humanity.

Linda, you write 'How my driver ran way with my car'! That is the car-owner's version. Does she have any proof? I truly truly doubt it...But alas, you do that all the time don't you.

The car could have been snatched, and this guy murdered or something worse...

  17. 2 things; 1)why is there not a tracker in the car? for a woman with a cook and a driver that just got married last month, I am sure you can afford it.
    2) how did you employ him without referrals or guarantor? I find that hard to swallow for a woman who deals with CAC weekly?
Finally If you actually made the 2 mistakes above, I can deduce that your cook is probably without referrals and guarantor also. Better fire him/her and do things right. That one could poison you o!!!

  20. The funny tin is dat ghanains are always saying nigerians are thieves and all dat but yet they close their eyes to the evil that their people do in nigeria. Nigerians are rili not finding it cool to stay in ghana.

  22. Ayu Nurudeen is not a Ghanaian. Has he ever spoken any Ghanaian language to her? People like madam are wicked to their own families, that is why the devil used Ayu to run away with her car.

The poor guy is probably back in a remote village in West or East Africa. Abi, he don try?

Madam should change all the locks in her house and cars and get a guard, if she does not have one because Ayu may still come back to finish her off unaware.

She turned him into a thief by being lazy and exposing him to money that he had never counted in his lifetime. Madam 'Olowogbo' will never accept the truth.

But see it as a way of God preventing you from sorrow-because what if you will be involved in a ghastly accident on your way home that faithful day? It is well. For future, You can put tracking device in your car and keep calling the police station you reported to or else when found, they will auction it to themselves o if noone claims it

U see, I met this guy Nick in hotel @ Ikeja claimed to have arrived from China, stayed three wks, we were practically doing almost everything together until he duped me nd it could have been worst. So thank God that's all he took. Nick has text me 2 forgive him that he will pay back.

  43. He cannot go away scot-free, just pray hard. It happened to my aunt, the driver had been going to the bank constantly with huge sums of money and nothing happened. Then one day he was sent to get N1.2million and he did not show up again. They went to his house and he had disappeared, even threatened to arrest his mother but nothing happened and he did not show up.

So my aunt went on a weekend of prayer and fasting. To cut the long story short, he had used the stolen money and what he got from selling the car to finance his visa and passage to Spain. Four months later he showed up to beg for forgiveness, because there were 12 of them who went together and he was the only one that was refused entry and deported.

So if you know your God, pray hard and this stupid driver will have no hiding place. He will not only lose everything, but will come back to beg and work to pay back all that he has stolen.

  60. Interesting! This is one of the major reasons why we advise people especially Nigerians to be up to date with technology. Install all the necessary tracking/ security devices on your property before it becomes too late.
This might not necessarily stop the crimes but it would definitely reduce them to the bearable minimum.

I hid my tracker in a place the most dubious person won't even think of, happy I made that decision cos I track my car at least twice at public places too.
Nigerians should also stop announcing it when they have trackers installed in their cars.
