Photos: Smugglers develop new ingenious way to smuggle rice into the country

Officers and Men of Ogun Area Command have exposed the new ingenious way smugglers try to bring in bags of rice into the country. The command in a statement released, says it has made over 20 seizures between 19th May to 3rd June, 2017. The seizures includes are:

- One Toyota Carina II car with rice concealed in boot,  spare tyre, engine compartment, roof and every  inconceivable parts of the rickety vehicle.
- One Renault truck loaded with two hundred (200) bags of  50kg rice concealed with woods and
- One J5 bus with thirty (30) bags of 50kg rice also  concealed with woods.

    1. You lack understanding. Where do you think your rice comes from? We stand for justice. Smugglers is not right, However, there should be a fair market competition. Dangote should not be the only one selling rice

  8. Please forgive them. This is better than performing rituals. Most of these people doing it are able bodied Nigerians looking for what to do. No job for even graduates, talk less of illitrates with families. MAN MUST WACK.

  14. This is totally false , smuggling this low quantity of rice wey no go reach one bag na em be smuggling ? Na chop person wan chop this one now...cos he or she refused to settle just #500 naira, I applied both seme and idiroko thrice in a week , wetin my eyes dey see no be me go open those arrogant , government , road virus wey called themselves custom yansh....

  15. Maybe he refused to settle customs. This is called arrest for the year so that government will believe they're working. Its only those with badluck that gets arrested when they want to prove to the government something. They may compensate the man in his subsequent trips.

  16. The ban is simply to pave way for 1 or 2 Hausa/Funali men to have monopoly to import the commodity single handedly
