"Men want to be treated like babies, so women should help them control their anger" - actress Empress Njamah

Speaking about Domestic Violence, Nollywood actress, Empress Njamah is of the opinion that women should help their partners control their anger rather than behave headstrong at all times.

This she stated in a new interview with Broadway TV, saying some ladies actually traumatize their partners mentally, rather than care for them like the babies that they want to be treated as.

According to Njamah;
"I would say this, we are talking about domestic violence and this is very serious. A man hits a woman, it's domestic violence, a woman hits a man, what is it called? No seriously, I love the topic. We are always about domestic violence and then it's all about the woman. Do you know that there are men who are more beaten up mentally than the women who they beat physically? I am not saying it's advisable but the truth of the matter is sometimes some women are headstrong and they can actually traumatize their partner mentally. They can actually make them run mad and they probably do not where they probably just hit. A lot of things happen in marriages, it is not a bed of roses. I'm not saying it's good, but sometimes you need to work together to help the man. If the man is naturally a wife beater or woman beater, you can actually help the man out of it. Her probably must have experienced a lot of things growing up. He must have seen one or two things and inculcated it. But sometimes lets just not put in on the man alone. If a woman hits a man, what is it called? That's why  overseas you see women beat the guys but they can't do anything because they don't want to go to jail. There are women who beat men up.
"Women help the men as well, help them control their anger and also help them to do things, so that everything can actually fall in place. If your husband tells you, hey I think this thing you are doing is too much and you are headstrong, and sometimes their friends could actually advise them wrongly. A man would not just marry you if he's not in love with you, but when you get into marriage, it's a different ball game. Basically, it's a two way thing, Work together and ..it's not a big deal. Most times these woman push the women into doing things, most times the men are headstrong, stubborn, have experienced stuff, frustrated or it could be any of them. But that's why you are married for better for worse. Work together and then help the man if that's the kind of person he is. And if a woman is that kind of person, stop it. That's why sometimes you see men leave marriage(s) and go marry someone else because they don't want to hit the woman or divorce. So they get a second wife who will pet them. Men are babies. They want to be treated like babies. That's the truth."

    4. Empress, although i see reason in what you said but it still doesnt justify a man to beat up his wife mercilessly. Men should also learn to control their temper by themselves & stop waiting for women to help them control their temper all the time. Women also love being pampered too. As u said, marraige is a two way thing. It is not supposed to be one sided. If the man wants to be pampered, he should also learn to pamper his wife too. It is a give and take affair not a take and take affair. Thanks

  11. Clearly Empress you are one of the people that speak good English but don't understand it . Domestic violence is not interpreted as a man hits a woman . Domestic violence can be a woman beating up her child too . It's a general theme . Women too have killed their husbands due to domestic violence too . The point is stop domestic violence whether it's a man hits a woman or a woman hits a man or parent hitting their kids ,...

  18. Why I condemn the domestic violence, and have being reading series of reactions to this issue, I believe this woman is d only person I have seeing making real and unbiased statement. One, it takes two to tango. No man will sincerely tell a woman he loves her, went to the extent of paying her dowry to make her his wife and suddenly turned her to a punching bag. Something must have gone wrong somewhere. And like she has said, let find how what went wrong, first from the woman, perhaps, this will help other women and put stop to this popular infamous domestic violence.

  19. I agree with Empress. In as much as I'm against domestic violence against women, some women also do not have control with their mouth. I know a couple who the woman speaks to the man distespectively. The wife in question nags about every little thing. Although in all her bad behaviour, the man never raised his hand against her. That is what love conquers, tolerance and patience. You can't love a woman and raise your hand against her. But truth be told also, as some men are violent, so are some women. They can nag a man to hell. And what I don't understand is why people court before marriage and pretend not to notice each others weaknesses. Women, marriage is not to endure but to enjoy. The essence of courtship is to study the parties behaviour, if you choose to close your eyes against any bad behaviours you end up breaking up after marriage.

    1. Your comment is so on point and I couldn't hv made a better one. DV is abominable, but some women are the limit, and infact perpetuate the violence with their mouth. It's terrible!

  23. Treat a man like a baby? Are you high on something? If a man is treated like a baby that means he will no longer be the head of the family. Nne just pray your man doesn't hit you. A man that beats a woman I call him horseback. I say No to domestic violence.

Auntie, a pig remains a pig irrespective of where its placed! A violent person (Man or Woman) remains violent irrespective of how s/he is pampered. Do you hold a coal of fire in your hands and hope that by pampering it like an egg it won't burn you? #SayNoToDomesticViolence

  38. Empress has made a point and a valid one, whether you choose to understand it the way she meant it, is a different story. I think bottom line, what she is trying to say is respect, honor and pamper your husband. And all should be well, even though there's still a few of men with their own demon's, and no matter how much you do, they will still perpetuate violent. Those ones you can't help, they just need therapy.
