Watch the shocking moment woman leaped from trunk of car to escape alleged abductor

A 25-year-old Alabama woman was able to escape from her abductors by climbing out of the car trunk and that brave moment was captured on camera. She was kidnapped at about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday as she was walking to her apartment in Birmingham, Alabama, when an unknown man approached near her apartment with a gun and demanded money. When she did not have any to give him, he took her mobile phone and wallet then forced her into the trunk of her own car then drove off.

At some point, the driver pulled over at a Gas Land petrol station then went to use the ATM. As the kidnapper returned and got into the woman's black Nissan Altima and began pulling out of the station, the cameras on the street filmed the trunk opening and the woman throwing herself out of the car onto the street. She fell down hard on the concrete floor but stood quickly and rushed into the gas station where she ran to a worker who then lets her crouch down behind the counter while 911 was called.

The woman sustained minor injuries from the fall but other than that, she is doing well. Police are searching for the suspect and have put out a photo of him captured at the ATM, asking the public to help find him.

The gas station's owner, Yosef Alsabah, told Alabama.com that he noticed something was not right with the kidnapper and he told him to leave when he was having issues with the ATM because he was trying to withdraw too much money.

"He was not right... there was something going on with him. He looked like he had a pistol in his pocket - I kept an eye on him." Yosef said.
