Photos: Landgrabbers illegally allocate shop spaces in Ibeju-Lekki LCDA, cause drainage blockage

A LIB reader sent in these photos and requested for help from the Lagos government. According to the person, Landgrabbers in Ibeju-Lekki are illegally allocating shop spaces in areas and spots that eventually cause a blockage of the drainage system on the roads.

"Kindly help bring to the attention of the Lagos State Governor, the deplorable and flooded state of the road at Container Bus Stop (Opposite Green Spring Schools), Awoyaya, in the Ibeju-Lekki LCDA due to blockage of drainages by some people who said they were allocated the spaces by Omoniles for which they paid for.  As a result of this, each time it rains, people find it difficult moving through this road due to too much flood on the road.
It is therefore pertinent that the State Government, through the Ministry of Environment, come to our aid by directing these people to remove all the containers/shanties built across the drainages thereby blocking it from free flow of water each time it rains." he said
