World Youth Day: When Nigeria's economy became the largest economy, it was because of our youths - GEJ

In Celebration of World Youth Day, Former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan shared a message to Nigerian Youths, via his official Facebook page. It read,
"I salute the resilience and creativity of our youths on a day dedicated to them. From Adichie to Jelani Aliyu, our youths continue to be our pride. When Nigeria's economy became the largest economy on the African continent, it was and is because of our youths. When we perform exploits at the Olympics and other sporting events, it is because of the great Nigerian youths. Nigeria and indeed the world has no greater asset than our youth and you will continue to be my personal inspiration. My message to youths is to urge you to continue to develop yourself through positive endeavors. The future is yours. God bless our youths. GEJ."

  22. Sorry he didnt make sense because he didnt explain how our youths made our economy the largest. Was it because the youths did not vandalise pipelines during Jonathan's administration? I dont get it.

    1. Youre foolish indeed. And no be swear. Thats why people like you will be left behind. For country's GDP to rise, it must have a standing labour force of youths and entrepreneurs of youthful vigour who employ others too. The chain reaction of this work force and the economic activities they engage in is what keeps a country afloat and boosts GDP and na wetin economists dey check. That is why countries with low or aged population emply every trick necessary.

Now that our youths cant sustain businesses and are in creeks and road robbing. GDP don kpeme.

Hope this makes sense, now. Thank me later.

    2. The same dullard like ur bugharia. Its because u lack understanding like your master that is why u won't understand that the positive image of the activities of some our youths create abroad, go a long way to bring investors to the country.

Short sighted idiots. That is why ur master and the small beret idiot refused to see the importance of being successful in the ongoing Olympic games. Myopic faggots.

  29. As an economist, for the benefit of those who do not understand how GDP works and it's meaning, GDP means the gross domestic product (GDP). It is the total monetary (money) value of all goods and services produced in a country over a period of time.(usually one year). So like anonymous 8:27pm said without the youths, vwho will be the factory worker, and who will invest in an economy you are not sure of its financial policies and programmes?. And for those who said he generated and also swallowed it, we tend to forget that state Governors took this same man to court bcs of excess crude money.

    ReplyDelete
  30. So this man believes his own lie? "Largest economy " with 2700 megawatts of electricity? 45% employment rate? Comatose industries? Terribly bad, non existent roads, poor security? A shut down north east? How could he have been that gullible?

  31. HYPOCRISY IS WHEN YOU SUPPORTED APC GOVERNORS FOR CHALLENGING GEJ ADMINISTRATION IN COURT TO SHARE ALL THE NATIONAL COFFERS WHEN GEJ INTENDED TO SAVE FOR FUTURE, WHICH THE APC GOVERNORS LATER WON THE CASE. SURPRISINGLY, YOU TURN AROUND TODAY TO BLAME GEJ FOR NOT SAVING DURING RAINING PERIOD.

INSTEAD OF FIGHTING THE OPPOSITION PARTY BECAUSE YOU ARE IN POWER TODAY CONTINUITY SHOULD HAVE BE THE BEST WAY OUT. HOWEVER, BUHARI AND APC ARE BUSY KILLING NIGERIA WITH THEIR INCOMPETENCY AND MISMANAGEMENT THEN TURN AROUND TO PUT THE BLAMING ON GEJ AND PAST REGIME.

BUHARI AND APC ALSO RELY ON MAKING NOISES WITH FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION IN DECEIVING NIGERIANS TO COVER THEIR CLUELESS AND IT OBVIOUS THEY ARE CONFUSED AND RUNNING OUT OF LIES NOW. THE REASON IBB REMOVED BUHARI FROM POWER IN 1985 IS REPEATING ITSELF NOW THAT BUHARI HAS FAILED THE NATION ONCE AGAIN WITH THIS SECOND CHANCE AND NO AMOUNT OF HIS EXCUSES WILL COVER THIS FACT.

The whole northern old men he scammed the nation into his Govt are classified as youths? I think the Youths are the first beneficiaries of the poor state of the nation today..and trust me they are suffering well

  39. In 1984, I was nursing my four months old first baby, Kazah when Buhari and Idiagbon removed Shagari from power. I cannot ever remember being so hungry like in those days. We would queue for hours and days just to buy milk, rice and bread and there were soldiers flogging us. That year, people were stealing other people’s food while it was being cooked. I told these young boys shouting “change! Changi Changi!” that Buhari would bring hunger, but they would not listen. I can see another 1984 coming again. People are suffering. My shop is full of goods, I cannot sell, because people don’t have money. Please help us tell the president that people are dying of hunger.”
