Family in search of troubled single mum who walked out of her home with her last son leaving behind a 7-page suicidal notes

The lady pictured above is named Olubunmi Uko, a single mother of three boys who walked out of her Fola- Agoro, Lagos home last Friday at about 5am with her last son, Seun. According to her family members, on the day she went missing, she told her two older sons, Toni and Iyiola that she was going to see someone. When the older children woke up, they found the 7-page suicidal note she wrote to her children, mum and to whom it may concern.

She stated that she was tired of life and that she was going to jump into the sea and that no one should look for her because by the time they find the letter, she knows that a shark would have eaten her up.

One of her sons said she was tired of life as her business was suffering due to the crashing dollar rates. Olubunmi sold Forever Living products. She collected N500,000 from a bank to fund her business and had not been able to pay back a situation that has caused her sleepless nights. Meanwhile the matter has been reported at the Alade Police station in Shomolu.

Her cousin in-law on Facebook asked people to pray for the safe return of Olubunmi and her son.

  3. Though I discourage every attempt at suicide, family members must learn to help one another and not wait till things get out of hand. I pray she gets back safely.

  16. I can say that 20% of Nigerians are thinking about suicide. I am not saying they will commit suicide but a percent will do. The situation is tempting and this is bad. I feel for this woman. She most have passed through hell catering for the kids. Oh God help us

  17. Lol I laugh for my country. I must share this. Yesterday a neighbour of ours that have been styling for us for years came to beg us for 2000 to buy food in the house. What will they eat after they exhaust the 2k giving to them. They were doing fine before on thier business but all of a sudden things changed.

  21. But even if she wants to die, why must she take another person's life along with her life? She should have left her last son. Who knows whether her last son will become president in future. You just destroyed another person's destiny because of your fraustration. It is true when they say children are the most vulnerable in the society. If only her last child could speak to her. 24. ....and so what? What about the Nigerians that are out there and don't even know how to survive on a daily basis? I see this woman as a selfish and inconsiderate. I'm sorry if I sound mean but what about the kids? What does she think would happen to them? Why? People should learn to think before they act. Life is tough but survive for your kids sake. This is mean and selfish of her.

  25. Let's avoid borrowing money from the bank especially when we know we dont have the capacity to pay back. It could lead to suicide because bank always add default charges to the loan which continues to accrue until you pay.

  26. Interests rate of loan in Nigeria can cause strangulation.
