Alleged budget padding: Dogara, 3 others to appear before police Investigative panel today

Barring any last minute change, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, his deputy Yusuff Lasun, Chief Whip Alhassan Ado Doguwa and Minority Leader Leo Ogor will today appear before a Special investigative panel set up by the acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, to probe the allegations of padding the 2016 budget leveled against them by sacked chairman of the House committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin.

    1. Does it mean Mr. Speaker and his co-accused has no personal attorney to remind NPF and other law enforcement agencies inclined to carry out investigation, that, they all (npf, efcc, icpc) lack jurisdiction to do so; as such will be acting in ultra vires of their statutory functions. Budget Padding isn't an offence per se. The House of Representative is legally empowered to amend the budget tendered by the Executive (The president). Thus, making any allegation against them, for carrying out their statutory function is utterly ridiculous and preposterous. The accused should better hire an attorney before this issue exacebates, or before they're being dragged to court, like Sen. Saraki (Senate president) and Ekweremadu (deputy S.P). In case they need an attorney to educate them on their functions; they can contact me through my e-mail address, Anamelechip@gmail.com

  10. Budget padding is not an offence. It shows how uneducated the people we elect really are.
