  4. Adaora Ukoh, you have just entered the institution of marriage and you should know that tomorrow is uncertain for all of us. You will have challenges in your marriage too and we wait to see how you will handle it. You ask a very sly, foolish yet mean question. Observe silently and learn from others. Whether flamboyant or not, some people enter marriage for the wrong reasons and that is why it does not last. But for sure, no marriage is perfect!

    1. Hmmmnnn! No na, that is not what she meant. Well, most yoruba advice to intending couple is to keep low, this is because, people don't wish well. When a wedding is flamboyant all eyes on and pressure on. May God help us all

    2. You have made a perfect response, marriage is between two hearts, two people who love, respect and cherish each other and when the foundation of a marriage is based on anything but true love, it will fail whether the wedding was flamboyant or meager.

  8. Because the couples always give chance to ''edible catering'' to serve them at the reception

  9. Because the husbands are always fake. The wives are always fake. The in-laws are always fake. And every house built of spittle easily gives way under the weight of ordinary dew.

  13. My dear some people spend a lot of time planning for a wedding instead invest that time and energy to plan for a better marriage.
When people get to understand that wedding is just one day but marriage bus life time then the rate of divorce will reduce.

  35. Not all flashy societal weddings are jinxed. An everyday man's marriage could crash without anyone knowing because they are not well known in the society and this happens quite frequently. But when a flamboyant wedding crashes, everyone seems to hear about it because they are very well known in the society. I don't think flamboyant societal weddings are jinxed in any way

  36. Ask yourself and answer yourself. I hope you've wedded your husband the legal way, not Tonto Dike who just did introduction and won't let us be. Marriages crash, Toke's own that crashed badly, did she do a 'soceital'wedding? Just commit your marriage to God and moreso, marry for the right reasons. That's all.

Linda use this comment for suya you hear.

  43. Cos a whole lot of them ain't based on true love but on either infatuation or lust and also, it's an avenue to show off wealth, and class. Such marriages won't really last on the long run except in few cases

    ReplyDelete
  44. Some people don't know when to keep their mouth shut. Adaora stop asking stupid question.what has wedding got to do with divorce. Bad man na bad man even if didn't pay ordinary bride price.no put mouth fit wetin no concern you,Abi you wan just trend.

The root cause would lie in the motives for such relationships ab initio...perhaps more commercial than conjugal ingredients cook the love soup!

  46. Because they planned the wedding which is one or two days events but failed to plan the marriage which is life time

  51. Cos a lot of witches and wizards attend! LOL! Most couples don't fast and pray, they are busy planning the wedding without placing it on the palm of the Almighty God to plan it for them.

  52. Always seek d face of God before going into marriage. Every solid marriage is built on God.

  53. Don't all dis ppl have their own storyline anymore?? Why using someone's predicaments to make a topic for discussion? Nawa o.

  54. I read some comments and I'm seriously SMH.... Many elaborate society weddings are jinxed because the parties involved in it spend so much time preparing for the wedding and little or no time for the marriage itself. Marriage and wedding are two entirely different things. Wedding on the one hand is a days event while marriage is what you are left with when the event is over. The same way you work Hard and get schooled to enable you have a good career is the same way you are expected to work hard to ensure a successful marriage. Successful marriage is not a myth its the end product of tremendous efforts put in by the parties in it. In addition a marriage without God more often than not is like living in a Paradise made of wax that will be melted at the slightest heat of the sun. #IRESTMYCASE#

  59. This is reality...it's like every flamboyant wedding has limited time

    ReplyDelete
  60. Adaorah am surprised you can have such a shallow view, is it because you got married to that your church rat husband that cant afford to pay for a big wedding... you should not critise people who can afford to.

Big society wedding does not describe an individual or their character..so if your husband is taken drugs and trying to run your empire down, you should digest it because you dont want people to think your society wedding will break ...rubbish

We know know how many deliverance you did before you found that your church rat husband..continue to suffer all in the name to save your marriage that does not exist..Ewu

  61. Basic grammar. It should be 'are' rather than 'is.' 'Why are ....

  62. Most societal weddings have fame, power, money and the likes which we all know do not last long...#onMYway...

  63. Imagine comments, as if we all know keys to a successfull marriage. Nobody knows even when you apply what it takes except God build the house for you in vain is the builder. It's only God that got the keys cos he ordained it. It's only the wise that sees such earlier and ask him for it cos it's beyond beauty and wealth.
