According to Senator Shehu Sani who represents Kaduna Central in the senate, sending a Nigerian to space in 2030 will be a total waste of money. His position is against that of the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, who in March, stated that Nigeria will launch its first Astronaut into space on or before 2030.

DeleteI totally agree with the senator. Our satellites are wasting away in space, when they should be earning us billions of dollars. We don't have a made-in-Nigeria car we can boast of. Even more basic, we haven't mastered the art and science of maintenance of our roads, hospitals, energy supply chains, etc. We haven't eradicated polio. We don't have functional registries for the diseases that plague us, eg, cancer, malaria.
