Graphic photos: Nigerian army intercepts two female suicide bombers in Borno State

The ever alert and vigilant troops of 7 Division Garrison based in Maiduguri, in conjunction with Civilian JTF averted yet another suicide attack on the innocent citizens in Borno State today.

The troops intercepted 2 female suicide bombers at about 1.20am this morning, almost 100 metres south of Umurari village, outskirts of Maiduguri.
However, one of the suicide bombers on sighting own troops detonated her explosive device, killing herself instantly, while the second bomber in an attempt to escape was gunned down by one of the Garrison snipers.

The combined team of Nigeria Police and Nigerian Army’s Explosive Ordinance Device team safely detonated the unexploded Improvised Explosive Devices strapped on the gunned down suicide bomber.

It is important to state that there was no casualty beyond the two suicide bombers. Presently, the troops and the Civilian JTF deployed in the village are now combing the general area to forestall further breach of security.
The situation in the area is calm and law abiding citizens are going about their normal activities without fear.

  3. I'd really love to know the technique of brainwashing/hypnotism that is used on this people to make them go blow up themselves. Like, WTF! How can you blow up yourself? I guess most of them have nothing to live for.

  29. Do they even try to identify these girls? If they did it may begin to solve the mystery of how they're recruited. Endless fighting won't end the scourge of BH.

  32. Inasmuch as I support Nigerian Army's war on terror this particular news and pics must be taken with a pinch of salt. Suicide bombers that wear explosives are always decapitated. The pics show 2 females felled by a barrage of gunfire, bodies and heads intact except one limb that looks like it was cut off with a knife, rather than blown to smithereens. We don't need lies from government or army. We need truthful action. From Boko Haram to Fulani Herdsmen. APC Chains turning alleged female suicide bombers into latest fashion? SMH

  33. Abeg, for your own safety, esp. for those in the North/Boko Haram ravaged states; please avoid large gatherings in public areas for this Easter period at least. Church is okay but outside that, don't think it is too safe to go about any social gathering! #GodHelpUsAll

  35. WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND.
MOST OF THESE SUICIDE BOMBERS HAVE BEEN BRAIN WASHED OR HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER(s) HELD CAPTIVE. WE SHOULD FEEL SORRY FOR THEM AND STILL HAIL OUR GALLANT SOLDIERS.

  36. Clueless Nigerians are easily deceived. Suicide body belt victims are hardly recognisable. A real trained soldier don't pull the trigger at the slightest sign of danger. It is possible to get a suicide bomber to disarm if sighted on time, that would even assist the military in getting information regarding their source of their evil. Only when such suspects refuse to comply with commands, then you incapacitate them. Where is the picture of the suicide belts they claimed to remove? There is no heroism in killing women and displaying their bodies and tagging them terrorist.

  37. Gentlemen, please we all need to be very careful, no matter where you live. Some of these BH escaped from the forest long time ago. There are everywhere but not strong enough to carry out individual attack.
