Would it not have been better for him to wait and listen to what they have to say instead of risking his life? Is he guilty of any offence? It is unfortunate that he did this to himself afterall he will repair his car with more money than he would have given the police.
After his car got damaged, he should be locked up for good 3months. Why can't he jx pull over if he has not committed any offence. I guess the policemen turned back because they thought he might have died. Bad policing all the same. why not capture his plate number and get his details from license office? smh
Now my concern is the statement that the airbag did not activate after such impact. And if truly the Hyundai was assembled here in nigeria, then there is trouble. I think the right authority should dig deep in this aspect.
Whatever d driver was being chased for by d police,he should have been matured enough to wait rather than trying to kill himself unnecessarily by "devil's remote control"..
Police is not our friend o,very mean set of pipo.that was how on 23rd of Jan my step mum's mother was hit by a bus tat was been chased by police in ph and she died, both d police and d bus driver ran away.whn my dad went to d police station to complain they denied posting police pipo ter meanwhile tis happen close to d police station.
Nigerian police and their senseless behaviour. Mshew....una no dey watch 'weirdest police video for sonymax' to know that you are suppose to call for backup n ambulance even if the person na diehard thief. Awon alainikanse!
y evade arrest? 1 tin wit police or security outfits id dt whn ask u 2 stop,u obey.den talk 2 dem politely, dey might leave u.it has happened 2 me n my oga severally.and we were asked 2 go.but by d time u are running up and down, u are compounding ya problem.if i were ur insurance coy,i will charge very well b4 i pay ds claim.coz it's willful contributory negligence.
If this car was bought brand new, then I'm highly disappointed in Hyundai. I for one, never fancied all these "plastic" cars they sell to us in Nigeria.
@Linda, I was at the accident scene as it happened (5:26am) and I saw the RRS guys struggling to reverse and run away. Thank God the guy and the lady on the passenger seat came out unscratched. While running away from the Police, the car veered off the road, knocked down a light pole and crossed the gutter to the front of Fidelity Bank along Awolowo road. And the rest is what you can see in the pix. The evil police men who were chasing him, thought he was dead, which was why they ran away. Unfortunately, this happened just two buildings away from the Keffi Police Station and for over 45 minutes we spent there trying to help the guy and the lady passenger, no police officer from that Keffi station showed up. Truly, Police is really your friend.

ReplyDeleteThis is really bad. Considering that this happened to someone I know.
ReplyDeleteThe Police claimed to be following him, but this was not the case.
If it was the Police, they did not use a Police vehicle...
He was "cornered" for lack of better words and they appeared to be like thieves so for safety, he "ran" by driving all the way from Marina to Ikoyi...
If it was the Police, why did the so-called Police back off after his car was crashed.
May GOD help us all. Amen.

ReplyDeleteLets all our security agencies esp the traffics warders should adopt a more civilized way of arresting the offenders, not rat chasing method.
