Ben Bruce and Pat Utomi join Reno Omokri as he Commissions Orphanage (photos)

Author and TV host, Reno Omokri, dedicated an orphanage built in honour of his late mother in Benin city, Edo state. The orphanage, the Helen and Bemigho Sanctuary for Orphans, was dedicated by Arch Bishop John Praise Daniel and commissioned by Professor Pat Utomi. In attendance were Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and Michael Moszynski, founder and CEO of the award winning UK advertising firm, London.

At the event, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce immediately announced that he would adopt two children and train them up to university level. Speaking afterwards, Professor Pat Utomi pledged that if Senator Ben Murray Bruce would pay for the children's schooling up to university level, he would continue from where he stopped and train them up to Masters level.

Reno Omokri, a pastor, built the orphanage in memory of his late mother and namesake Helen Bemigho Igbene, who died 12 years ago on March 17th, 2004. It was dedicated on Sunday the 21st of February, 2016 in a ceremony witnessed by friends and family.

  15. Reno trying to give back a tiny fraction of our commonwealth to a few of the owners. Trust my Yoruba brothers like Okupe, FFK, Fayose, and Abati, rather than give to the needy, they would tweet trash and write lengthy articles asking others to help those living in penury as a result of these my brothers being in the corridors of power once upon a time, or outrightly condemn those who have chosen to help and label them brands exploiters. Wa ba eru e ni 'boo de!

Hope the facility will be well maintained and Reno will be the principal to ensure service users are given the best care possible.

  18. Mummy Helen was a kind woman. Many people died emotionally after she died. Life would have been better for me if she was alive. She was a good mum to me and a good sister to my mum though not related in any way. I remember the last time I saw you in your office. I didn't know that refreshment was the last. To know that we even bear the same name. I love you mummy. May your soul rest in peace.
