Rotimi Amaechi confirmed as Minister despite petition against him

The APC senators who remained in the senate after PDP staged a walk out, have confirmed Rotimi Amaechi as a minister of the Federal republic of Nigeria. The senators rejected the recommendation of the Ethics and priviledge committee's which recommended that the Rotimi Amaechi should not be confirmed as Minister because of the corruption charges that he is yet to answer to at the appeal court.

PDP senators, that is how you will all walk out of your destinies.. Pained creatures.
But I love the argument , that is how a senate session is support to be...APC needs a party that will challenge them so that they will not mess up.
That baba in agbada that stood up and screamed yes to ameachi's confirmation is so funny, its like his life depends on it.
    Congratulations to every one.

  24. The PDP is being over emotional here. Why deny him confirmation while he hasn't been pronounced guilty by the court of law? If the court finds him guilty of the petitions levelled against him at any time after assumption of office as a minister, his ministerial appointment can be terminated. What's the problem?!

  35. The Youths of this nation can only weep because our leaders have made black white in a broad day light. The ethics committee set up by the same house and not PDP said a man brought before him should not be confirmed minister based on the available fact before him and the senate President and Apc will undermine that report and confirm him . I have followed the screening properly and i must be honest it is laughable to the world, it only shown how much we are not sincere with what we preach. A husband of a lady under screening is the one to first ask a question and the all you will here is take a bow and go when he should take a back seat and let other members do the needful. etc i am sick of this nation

  36. Hahahaha. Change or should I say shame? Corrupt people in pdp are now apc saints.yes ooo.and "incorrupt" supporters of apc now turn a blind eyes to corruption see small by smalll in this new admin. So I gues when buharia said he will recover stolen fund,he didn't mean the funds stolen by tinubu amaechi and others...I salute my great country.now let the hypocrites begin to say congrats to amaechi.and they should also state why amaechi deserves minister while ibori has been in jail for years.people who are now only capable of seeing evil in pdp and only good in apc.the world isn't white and black, that's why God didn't make us color blind.....congrats amaechi u deserved this, congrats Gmb u decieved SOME nigerians..........linlin abeg post.yesterday all comment were not shown.post for days and see nothing is not fair.ok oo

  44. Its a pity. And then our leaders will expect the average man to honest law abiding citizens with integrity when they themselves do not even know what integrity is.. Why confirm someone with so much allegations of corruption surrounding him? I bet u, if Nigeria was their own personal company they wouldn't even confirm him as a gateman but yet he is good enough for a country of over 170 million people

  45. I with all my soul and being hate the way politics is played in this country. Sincerely this processes are not going in the perspective of change at all. Does it mean that people from different parties must be distinct in everything even when the truth is standing firm like my father's ROD. And just because someone is in ur party you must be on his or her side in every daamn case?

  52. Linda, I am ashamed to be a Nigerian . Shame on those APC senators. The land will never forgive them. A nominee never paid tax but as soon he was nominated, went ahead and paid all his taxes and they all had the same date in October. The Senate cleared him , even after objection by some sane people. The nominee will be paid with tax payers money isn't it? A nominee earned above 60 million in 2014 and paid only 50,000 naira tax, these same people ignored it while this nominee will be made Minister and paid with tax payers money. Last month, I was paid a salary of 395,000 naira and 65,000 was taken as tax from me.Today , Amaechi was cleared despite all the allegation against him . Their sense of morality should have told them to allow this man to clear himself in court before confirming him. Lo and behold , I watched them with disdain quoting and reading just to cover up the allegations and even go against their rules that anything in court should not be deliberated. Any sane person expected them to say, clear yourself in court even though we know how the court case will come out because I am sure this is going to be one of Nigeria's most corrupt administration. We are back to the days of Obasanjo's regime. Quarter democracy, three quarter military regime . WHAT A SHAME NIGERIA! NIGERIANS ARE HELPLESS!!!

  63. The beauty of politics at play, you will agree. The expression "when Bush comes shove" is aptly Nigerian because in this beautiful country, when two siblings go for a meeting to resolve a knotty issue and as they walk out of the meeting venue smiling and exchanging banters, then, obviously one of them had not told the other the truth. Conversely, when they walk out of the venue and one of them appears not to be satisfied, obviously too, one of them has refused to accept the truth. Politics is about intrigues! PDP should have known this.
