Ogun state governor calls for life imprisonment for corrupt public officials

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has advocated life imprisonment for public officials found guilty of corruption. Governor Amosun made the call yesterday when he addressed members of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), at Arcade Ground, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta, during the union’s campaign for good governance held simultaneously in all 36 States of the federation and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to Governor Amosun, if he had his way, he would suggest capital punishment for both corrupt political office holders and government workers but since it was not in line with world best practice, life sentence and stigmatization should be the best for them
"You cannot be corrupt under anyone who is not corrupt. I will say that whoever is found wanting should be jailed for life irrespective of their personality and they should be stigmatized, it takes two to tangle, this anti-corruption crusade is not only about political office holders, government workers too should detest corruption. If we all come together to kill corruption, we would be better for it,” he stated.

  20. Seems as if buhari is the only 'saint' in this country right now who has the power and right to crucify anybody. It's a shame how Nigerians forget things too soon. Also, ALL I have seen so far in the change of government is just apc dragging pdp as if there have nothing else to do.

What I want to see are things like
    1. Goodluck has brought air conditioned train, buhari should upgrade it to metro
2.goodluck has provided stable power, that's what we are enjoying right now,(only witches and wizards would think otherwise) buhari should make us celebrate at least 100 days of uninterrupted power in the whole country.
    3. Goodluck improved agriculture, buhari should then build on that, shebi he is a farmer too?
4.the refineries working now were done by Goodluck, let's see how buhari can build new ones
    Etc.
Until I see these things happening, I don't even believe we have a president yet. Not time abeg.
