Meet the 4 black girls who were refused entry into top London club, Dstrkt

These are the four friends - Zalika Miller (far left) pictured with her friends Reisha (centre left), Tasha (centre right) and Lin Mei (right), who were allegedly turned away from top London nightclub, Dstrkt on Saturday night. The women were asked to stand across the road from the club so the white manager could look at them. After which he allegedly told Reisha and Tasha that they were ‘too dark’ and ‘overweight’ to enter the club. Read previous story here


Zalika Miller, 26, told The Voice: 
‘Prior to us actually getting to the club, the [promoter] wanted pictures of the girls that my friend was going to bring. He basically said, if she was going to bring black girls then they’ve got to be of “a certain calibre”. She sent him pictures of me and another girl that was coming and I guess he gave his approval.’

      Most clubs in Europe and America have a black quota ie a certain percentage of black they can allow into the club. Sad but true. Got the information from a bouncer. If they allow more they may be sacked.

    I have been to dstrkt and they are far from racist. Its an amazing club and they have certain standards because of the calibre of people that go there. you will always see an A list celeb. You have to act and dress a certain way to gain entry, you cant dress the way they are dressed and expect to be allowed in. You have to be trendy, wear whats hot in London at the moment, if u have designer, carry. Black people sha, we are so quick to shout racism when we wont be cutting our coat according to our size. Last time I was there they will not allow some white girls enter because they looked like full blown prostitutes, fake boobs, fake bums and tattoos, but they looked HOT o, but it was obvious they were working girls.

      These girls are not fine. And the fact that they stood across the road to be judged shows how thirsty they are. I have never been denied access to any club in london and these clubs need clientele so they won't turn anyone away unless the person does not fit into the vibe they have. And like anon said I have seen white people turned away from clubs before. It is what it is.

      Hmmm interesting... What your saying is correct to a certain extent, however that doesn't negate the experience these ladies underwent which as they put it, being denied entry because of skin tone and size... How do you explain that? You just gave the example of the white women being denied entry because they showed up full of tattoos and boobs all out on front street. That was understandable because they didn't meet the standards of the dress code- NOT because of their size or skin tone, which anyone would probably take personal. If indeed that's what occurred, then shame on the club, don't care how popular It is.

      That's what irritates me about this matter.. I have never heard of ANYONE having send in a picture. Their antennas should have gone up from that point but rather they showed anyway, only to now look foolish. They should have went somewhere else.
