Grafton Entertainment Kicks Off Activities For 10th Year Anniversary

Grafton Entertainment, a Nigerian and UK based company is set to mark its 10th year anniversary in Nigeria. Earlier in the week, the Tonye Ibiama owned Entertainment Company announced that they will be embarking on series of events aimed at giving back to the region and community, Port Harcourt, where the dream was born.

According to Mr. Ibiama, the company has joined forces with music streaming platform - Spinlet, to hold a Social Media seminar come July 27, 2015 at the Glass House new Rumoula/Stadium road link road by 10am. The event will educate artistes, music label owners, and other entertainment stake holders on the importance of Social media and ways to use it to improve the entertainment market of the Niger-Delta region.

Also, on the 18th of August, 2015 another free Entertainment and Music business Seminar will hold at the same venue, with a final comedy and music concert on the 13th of September, 2015 at the Aztech Arcum. The headline artistes of the concert are Grafton managed and signed entertainers - Prince Hezekiah (comedian), Mr. 2Kay (singer) and a host of other national acts.

In a chat with Mr. Tonye Ibiama, he said, "After a decade of producing and creating events and managing acts in the region, it is best to spot the areas where the region is lacking; and for me, the new media or social media is very important and that's why we are embarking on this mission to help enlighten the people more in this area. Likewise the Entertainment industry in general and its for free."

Tonye also said, that the norm for a lot of gifted artistes outside Lagos is to run to Lagos to pursue their dreams. In his words, "I have ran my business in Nigeria and the UK and I understand that what people need is information. If people are informed to know and understand how things work in this entertainment business, they won't need to leave their own region to another in search of greener pastures.

"There might be need for frequent visits to a major city, but its also good to build other cities in a country.and social media creates that opportunity even though it may not be complete, but it makes a great impact. Thanks to Spinlet for identifying the need in this area with us and for powering this forthcoming event. We also thank all the local and international media that have identified with this project."

The CEO of Grafton Entertainment said he will unveil other activities ahead of the company's anniversary as time goes on.
