Buhari restricts wife, relations and aides from using presidential jets

Sources within the presidency say President Buhari has restricted his wife, relations and aides from using the presidential jet unless it is necessary. This was recently played out when the first lady and her family members flew t  and from Saudi Arabia for the lesser hajj aboard an Emirates airline flight. The source in the presidency say President Buhari came up with the restriction so as to save the cost of maintaining the private jets
"President Buhari has adopted a strict policy on the use of presidential aircraft in order to save cost. His wife and relations have been restricted from the use of the aircraft in the presidential fleet. A situation where the aircraft were used anyhow by some friends, associates of the President during the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan can no longer be applicable in this dispensation. For example, the wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari and three children travelled for lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia on Emirates Airline. Buhari is determined to ensure the judicious use of the presidential aircraft to save cost. He is also setting a new template for governance. Do not be surprised if you see the President using commercial flights.”the source said
The last administration spent about N9.08billion yearly to maintain the 10 aircraft in the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF).

  21. Please Buhari we beg u in d name of God ua nd ur family should remain in ur Presidential wing and use the Presidential jet provided for u it's entitlement as a President so how u use it is not our bizness, just make Nigeria work.Coming down to use commercial flights will b endangering d lives of many citizens that will b on such flights all in d name of being prudent, dont know how u want to b prudent with ur own personal life,d minute u come on commercial flights u become a target and dis will pose grave danger for well meaning Nigerians that will fly as passengers, Buhari u r taking all dis ur acts to far and I think u r overdoing it, u can control how ur Jets r used but not to suggest ur wife and children should come to d commercial side of d airport don't expose them to danger as much as u shouldn't endanger others. The death of the Late Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Maccido is still fresh on our minds please, he wus brought into Abuja with a Presidential jet and left with a commercial plane that went ahead to kill him, Buhari should b liberal in some of his actions and stop playing to d gallery

  41. For any Nigerian who is forward- prone, such measures are not so extraordinary. We just see them now as such because we rarely have had the privellage of having leaders of high integrity in the past. We were so unfortunately conversant with leaders who spent public funds recklessly leaving the poor more poorer and in abject poverty. If at all we are lucky enough for long time to come, a new Nigeria would definitely emerge under the present administration. That should be the hope of every right thinking Nigerian.

  60. That's what you want to do? That's excellent. But why does GEJ need to come into the matter. Is he the yard stick for presidency in Nigeria? Is it only by constantly making him and his administration look bad that you can feel good about yourself. also tell us the truth where those crafts used by just GEJ and his family or where other government agencies using them. All these half truths are not helping us. GEJ is in the past now. Forget about him and do what you need to do. You are no longer the opposition. You are the ones in position! Shekenan.
