Popular media personality Toke Makinwa is the number trending topic on Nigerian Twitter right now. There was a report earlier today that Toke's husband, Maje Ayida allegedly got his ex-girlfriend, a girl based in Calabar named Anita Solomon ,pregnant and she's off to the UK to birth the child. I'm not justifying what the street dog Mr Ayida did, but I'm saying her case is just like millions of women out there, these women see the signs, they know their husband is cheating, some husband even make it obvious and are so proud of themselves and their conquest and throw it to the face of their wives, but these women will still chose to stay in the relationship for reason best known to them which sometimes I find it difficult to comprehend, and some with the Hope that he'll change someday, but they never change and these women continue to die in silence and suffer emotional torture all their life. So Toke is a typical example of an average woman out there, and her predicament is a typical example of what millions of women are suffering in relationship and marriage.
So the big question is "why do these women stay?"even when it's obvious and even when the word of God has empowered them to leave on ground of unfaithfulness
I will not be surprised if she continue with the marriage. Because right now all sort of excuses to justify her stay will be brewing on her head,, same reasons that made her date him for 12 years, even when she knew he was dating the so called miss Solomon. And now she's even more emotionally trapped.
My heart goes out to her. I pray God grant her the emotional strength to bear the pain caused by this devastating height of adultery to her marriage.
