Can we kindly put this whole "GEJ is a hero" story aside now. GEJ's camp obviously wanted to stay in power by all means and it's obvious that they rigged/manipulated election results from the south-east and south-south. There were too many discrepancies in the results from those regions. How on earth could their party have kept getting millions of voters in Delta,Rivers and Akwa Ibom with no invalid votes? With such high numbers of voters, it's unbelievable to not have invalid votes.
ReplyDeleteThe thing however turned out that their(PDP's) alleged manipulated figures still didn't match up with that of the APC eventually. Is that not also do-or-die politics? I think the real hero in all of these was/is Jega for standing his ground to be truly neutral to all parties. GEJ had no choice but to concede because the underground work by PDP failed and we all saw clearly on TV that he was defeated.
However, I must say that GEJ should be commended for making that congratulatory call to Buhari because that helped ease the tension that the nation had been subjected to over a few weeks before till that day.

Legend?,no i dont think so, please be careful what you wish for there is a thin line between being a hero and a villain.The president did the right thing, he lost an election and he conceded victory.Why is it so difficult for people to accept reality?he did what any sane minded leader would do anywhere in the world, i do not think he wanted to end up like Laurent Gbagbo of Cote,divoire.So i applaud him for doing the right thing , he is not a legend, i am sure the early revelations of the levels of graft and resource mismanagement under his watch once Buhari takes over will take care of that.
