Photo: Angry passengers sit on tarmac in Abuja

Angry passengers who were to fly to Adamawa and Gombe states from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja got so angry and decided to take over the tarmac and sit in protest after their flight was cancelled yesterday night. Some of the passengers said they were at the airport for their 9am flight but the airline kept delaying the flight until 9pm when they informed them that the flight had been cancelled.

    3. Foolishness is when u go to London to campaign with people that have no PVC.
»Insane is wen u've been shouting "up Nepa" since u were born and expect President Jonathan to be a magician in 4years.
»Madness is wen u spend 4, 5 or 6yrs in the university reading day and night to get certificate at d end vote a mallam without a certificate.
»Olodo is when u use broom to sweep without using Parker to pack d dirt.
»Barawo is wen u say u and your members will wipe corruption while ur benefactor(tinubu) owns half of Lagos. »Foolishness is when an elder who should be enjoying his old age is stressing himself doing "I must win politics".
...Ewu is when a man says he will equate naira to d same as dollars if he wins bcos he does not know the dynamics of economics.

  7. Shebi there is a passengers Bill of Rights now? We need to start taking legal steps to make these airlines pay for unnecessary delays that lead to costs for innocent passengers

  8. You can't keep pushing people to the wall, Nigerians knowing the power they have. Definitely the Aviation sector will have to address this against subsequent occurrence.

  12. Slavery is when you sleep without power (in this harsh whether) with all your doors and windows locked because of insecurity, wake up to queue at the gas station to buy imported fuel with your hard-earned devalued naira, go back home to charge your your phone with your overworked China generator, buy data bundles at unimaginable cost and still use the same miserable phone to post #GEJ till 2019.....papyamanda

    1. So if we vote buhari we won't face insecurities, power failure, buy data bundles and everything u dictated here? Well I doubt that. My dear Nigeria is we all responsibilities, we just lack patience n re too greedy. The president is just a minor part of this country's sufferings. Believe me nobody will miraculously change Nigeria. We need God's intervention.

    2. Finally smone spoke my mind. We were buying recharge card before jonathan won, we've never experienced constant and good power supply. we need to change our attitude, and take responsibility for our change, buhari will not deliver change to us even if he wins.

  14. Wow! I don't even know what to say. That's cruel of the airline and wrong of the passengers for revolting like that. At least today is another day to try! Everything sounds political tho! But there are many ways to kill a rat other than violence and baseless protest. There's no stopping Buhari! If PDP thinks depriving the northerners from going home, will win election for them, then I can only say they are deluded and intellectually delinquent.

  21. No. stupidity is when you have been given so much freedom by a democrat and you use it in abusing the democrat rather than doing something good for your life. Idiocy is when the citizens of a country are all in their daily lives involved in corrupt practices and they expect their leader to perform the magic. Aboki is when you see viable candidate like Fashola and you decide to put your trust on a tyrant Buhari. APC has failed

  24. Its arik air. I was at the airport when this took place. They vowed to sue the mngt of the flight. But decide on this action. Naija is in mess. The international airport hall is highly bad. No AC is working. The famales have to que for hours before using the rest room because of limited toilet. It was a disgrace yestdy. Arik cancenel flight to yola, worri, gombe and many other places without compensation or alternative. So sad a country to call my own.

  25. Arik don fall their hand patapata! Yeye airline. Linda take note!

  26. Arik air management is highly irresponsible. My sister was due to fly to south Africa on Sunday by Arik air, the flight was cancelled and moved to Monday 1am, on Monday, the flight was cancelled and moved to Tuesday 7am and instead of 7am, the flight left by 9am. The same thing also happened when by newphew travelled to South Africa two weeks earlier, he even spent the night at the international airport sleeping in the bare floor. Nigerian businesses don't give value for money. If you cancel or miss a flight, you are surcharged, but when the airline defaults, the customers can go to hell. What happens to the 'customer is king'.What really is an airlines responsibility to its customers when it cancels or postpones a flight especially customers from out of town who get stranded by such cancellations or postponements. Arik Air, pls tell us.

    ReplyDelete
  27. that's very unfair, 12 hour delay then cancellation in that yeye airport

  28. So sorry for those affected but it's unsafe to sit on tarmac. Besides, sometimes God uses delays to save us from unforseen circumstances.

  34. I see... That's the aviation sector that President Jonathan, GCFR transformed!

    ReplyDelete
  35. But wait o, what was 5he reason for the delay? We cant juqst blame the airline cos delays happen in every country due to weather which is beyond anyone. Sometimes naija passengers no dry hear that language, they just want to go as long as tgey have paid. I once had to fly to Benin and weather was horrible as the airport there was closed cos no runway light in the heavy rain, but passengers were blaming the pilot and crew, when we finally left, the turbulence was so much that people were throwing up, and the same people that were abusive to pilot and crew, were now asking to go back to Lagos. Am not saying Arik air is right, tgey have the worst customer service, but lets not take sides till we hear Arik's side of the story. Linda ober to you.

  36. Arik owes it pilots and other staff 3 months salaries or more. They skimp on safety but try to cover up with PR.
This scenario is a daily occurrence with Arik. But as the owner is a loyalist of the man at the top they are untouchable.
    We can only grumble

  37. Arik has turned into something else, whats really their problem?
