Photots: 8 OAU students escape death in Ekiti

About eight students of the Obafemi Awolowo University escaped death yesterday Feb. 16th after the 18-Seater bus they were traveling in tumbled three times at Igede, Ado-Ekiti road, at about 4:30pm.

The group of students were on their way to a naming ceremony at Ado-Ekiti when the accident happened. Eye witnesses say only one female student sustained injuries. The accident victims were taken to the General Hospital at Ado-Ekiti after the incident but doctors allegedly refused to attend to them.
"The students presented their Identity Cards, yet, Doctors insisted that they must pay certain fee before they would be attended to. Though, they were later attended to at a private hospital nearby but it was kind of late." a student said
The students are now back on campus.

  1. I think something needs to be done about hospitals policy. So if the injury were so serious, this is how they'd have lost their lives just like that? Shame!

    UNREPENTANT MISTRESS 5 :whirlwind valentine
........And how did i spend my val
C'mon I bet you are just DYING TO KNOW
On the so called lovers’ day, how many of you received as much as a peck from the men you love? How many of you had your hopes of “this year would be different” dashed to the ground? How many got stood up? Or your darling husband came back very late, if he came back at all. How many got the “I don’t celebrate valentine it is very childish” speech? Or the “don’t you think you are too old to be joining children in all these frivolities” speech
HAHAHAHAHA!!! I cant help but laugh. That is what you get when you lose your market value. When ”see finish” u sets in. The jerks give you all those sermons and let downs, and turn into romantic love struck puppies in my hands.
Guess who got a brand new SUV from John Amaka’s husband. Did I fail to mention that her birthday has come and gone, and she has nothing to show for it? Guess who got a 15carat diamond bracelet from tiffany. Guess who got the entire line of (insert name of really expensive perfume) perfumes? The entire line…. Need I brag some more? Need I brag about the value of my accounts right now?

  51. Our health system need to be totally overhauled. This kind of treatment is not really nice for the health of this country and it's not the fault of the doctors but that of the hospital policy makers.
A doctor friend of mine who happens to work for Luth developed severe gastrointestinal bleeding and was rushed to LUTH, his workplace and he was made to part with 50,000(spillover ward) before he was attended to.
Now, when doctors are treated like this at their place of work because of 'so called policy', explain to me how he would have any empathy for patients. Something drastic has to be done in the health sector.
In most state hospitals, you're in trouble if you don't have money or know a commissioner/politician. God help us.
