Seun Kuti denies saying people shouldn't vote for Buhari, calls out reporter

Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti took to his Facebook page this morning to deny saying in an interview with Tribune that folks shouldn't vote for Gen. Buhari. Seun even called out the reporter he had the interview with. Continue to see what Seun allegedly said..

From Sunday Tribune January 11th, Seun Kuti was quoted as saying...
“I will only urge Nigerians, especially her youths, to come out enmasse to elect the ruler of their choice so that Nigeria’s democracy will continue to grow. As for me though, I will never vote for Buhari because of what he did to my father. It is a personal grouse. Buhari denied me the chance of seeing my father in the early stage of my life. He arrested and detained Fela in Kirikiri for the same number of years I was growing up without a father, and even did not allow his family members to see him on a daily basis. He eventually jailed my father and I will always remember that. He jailed my innocent father on currency trafficking, but he is claiming to be a saint now. Truth is that I have no reason to give my vote to any of the two contestants, but more especially Buhari because of the eternal emotional damage he caused the Kuti family, especially me"

''I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria. "God-willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the sharia in the country. Muslims should vote at the next Presidential election only for someone who will defend their faith''

    1. This research was carried out when President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) asked the former of Governor Central Bank of Nigeria Sanusi Lamido Sanusi (SLS) to resign his post for allegedly leaking a letter SLS wrote to GEJ stating that $49.8 Billion US was yet to be remitted by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) into the nation coffers.

After some reconciliation efforts by the Finance Ministry, CBN and NNPC, the unremitted money was agreed to be some figure between $12 Billion US and $10.9 Billion US.

Afterwards, SLS insisted it was more in the region of $20Billion. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (NOI) the Minster of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of Economy set up an audit of the missing funds by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Audit firm and the report was promised to be ready by October, 2014. PwC claims the report is ready but the Federal Government is yet to release it to the public.

I had to wonder, what is the real value of $10 Billion US (note how I am being conservative and not going above $10 Billion).

  9. As #FailBuhari 14th draws near. If you're voting remember these facts:

    1) In 2 years Buhari spent in power he didn't build a single university

    2) Buhari Sacked more than 50,000 Civil servants and cut
    allowance of lecturers in 1984

    leading to brain drain.

    3) Buhari re- introduced payment of school fees in all schools. He also banned school feeding program.

    4) Buhari's failed economic policy caused alot of hardship to Nigerians. Many cried while queueing for their portions of scarce commodities like rice, sugar, salt, milk and toiletries

    5) Buhari critised Federal Govt for being harsh on bokoharam members

    6) Under Buhari's watch,Islamic terror group called Maitasine slaughter more than 5,000 Nigerians with mere Bow and Arrow yet they say the Old man can defeat his Bokoboys

    7) Buhari Increased Nigeria externel debt by $3billion in just 1 years. Drove up Inflation by 41% , one of the worst in the history of Nigeria

    8) Buhari used gun to attempt to
force down prices of goods in
    1984. What a novice in
    Economics.

    9) Buhari is an Islamist who want sharia to be enforced all over Nigeria

    10) He is also a jihadist

    11) Buhari promised blood bath if he does not win elections

    12) Buhari ask his supporters to Kill anybody that tries to rig 2011 election as a result led to the killing of many youth corpers.

Still better than Jonathan who takes us for a fool, sayin he will fight corruption with technology, also sayin he will provide 2 million jobs if re elected....rubish, what has he been doin with his first term?, unemployment rate in the country is at its worst low under Johnathan. Nigerians are not fools! + when it comes to security of the nation , Johnathan regime is the most insecure

    2. Its not just about Buhari Mr Man. Its about change. When the best is not available, the available becomes the best. We want a change in govt. Jonathan has failed us and Buhari is the only available alternative. If Buhari fails too we will vote him out come 2019

    4. And yet he has stayed in power longer than any politician in nigeria. His govern has brought in more death than a war zone , blood shed everywhere, poverty hitting ppl at all corners except for those in corridors of power, people dying as a result of poor health care. Young people dying anyhow.

It's all propaganda and I'll advice U and others to stop this if u mean well for this country. It's ok to have your Prefrence and you will do better to SELL him and his attributes than make statements that are false n impracticable

Do not divert, because news men will just pick the words they want and turn everything you said on its head! Tribune just wanted to show the side of Buharu=I and didn't bother with that of GEJ because it is sympathetic to him!
