    1. This kind of accident can only happen in Nigeria where anybody can just wake up and carry a long vehicle.... Without Class 1 drivers license, you can't drive trucks/trailers or any long vehicles here... See how useless drivers are just killing innocent people. Nigeria still has a long way to go. Rip to the dead!!!

    1. MAR BANGURA from Sierra Leone has this to tell Nigerians;"I don't think you guys know what you are playing with. You can call each other names and laugh about it now but when you end up inciting hate here as I read through your posts here and a real civil war start in your country you will regret what you are doing now. Your religious and political leaders are trying to divide you between religious lines and you are helping them do that rather than standing up and say we are all nigerians never mind our tribe, region or religion. That's the only stand that will save your blessed nation. The foreign powers pushing the government to take certain decisions will abandon you when you start killing each other and reject you from running to their countries so be careful. Our 11 years war in Sierra Leone was not even based on religious or tribal difference and see what we did to our country. The worst conflicts are those based on tribal and religious differences. See Central Africa, Bosnia. My heart bleeds when I read what you guys are saying bcos I know what this will lead to. You will be the losers all of you whether Christian, Muslim, ibo, yoruba or hausa. Stand as one and save your nation together bcos you have only one Nigeria that has the potential to lead Africa.

  51. It has gotten to the point that passengers and everyone has to take their destiny in their own hands. If you board any commercial vehicle and the driver is reckless, please slap the back of his f**king head! Passengers, use your belts if you have to! These drivers have no conscience and will put lives at risk for mere N20! There should be ZERO TOLERANCE for reckless driving, especially within Lagos and all hands must be on deck. Enough of this needless loss of lives thru preventable accidents!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Most of the commercial vehicles drive against the traffic all the way from Cele bus stop as a way to avoid traffic jam at mile 2.

  54. Linda i have to commend you, you are practically everywhere, now back to the accident i intended posting it via nairaland but now that you have done a better job, kindly help us appeal to the government of lagos state to live up to their responsibility, stop one way driving on the express, stop Okada people numbering over 300 hundred or more occuping the inner most lane on the express,

  92. What does God have to do with any of this. Lagos drive very stupidly. Danfo drivers and trailer drivers are some of the worst drivers in Lagos. So when there is an accident, please let's ask what can be done to get the mad people that drive these vehicles off the road instead of asking God to come perform a miracle.

  95. Anonymous 10.08, wish others well, rmber what you wished for others could actually happen to you. Reporting accident such as this reminds road users to be conscious while driving, as well as others intending to pass same route to consider alternative, so how does it affect u? Spreading hate all over cos things are not as good for u as it were for others doesn't help ur pathetic life, stop the hate and spread luv.

The stupid trailer drivers block one part of d road completely, no movement, they switch off their vehicle angines and gather to smoke and drink kunu on d express rd. I ply dat way everyday to work and u have no option but to join d buses plying one way or else u go sleep there and get queried or sacked.the touts even use d opportuinity to rob people. Pls Fashola, come to our aid.

  113. Linda as much as I pity those who lost their lives, this accident has been waiting to happen because the buses park on the expressway to load passengers turning a blind eye to the speeding trailers and vehicles coupled with the trucks. Any of these poorly maintained trailers with a failed brake could have caused this accident, however if the drivers had been on the service lane, the accident probably would have been avoided. I blame the LASTMA who collect money from the bus drivers and allow them to use the expressway as a loading point or bus stop, I blame the bus drivers for refusing to do the right thing, I blame the trailer owners and their drivers who refuse to maintain their trailers. I blame the tanker drivers and trailers who indeed park on the expressway resulting in heavy traffic logjam. I blame the police for not arresting and towing errant offenders. We can become better people if we just do the right thing always. God is watching us all. Unfortunately people have lost their valuable lives and that is so sad. May their soul RIP.
