Nigerian military condemns CNN's interview with Nigerian soldiers

CNN aired an interview a few hours ago with people they claim are Nigerian soldiers who told them that Nigerian soldiers are buying their own kits and when they get injured in the line of duty, they cater for their own medical bills. The Nigerian military has condemned the interview.. they even said Satanic CNN report. Lol. Watch interview here

    8. CNN ~ Too good to b true. No military man or woman wil ever grant interview witout approval frm his superior or authority.

But y wil CNN go to d mile or extend of conducting interview wit a so called military man witout getting it frm d defence HQ.

Dis shows d military man is fake and d interview is "make up". CNN is indeed fake and biased.

It mak no sense dat a military man wil say he bought his kit and treat himsef. Dat is total fallacy.

D defence HQ is rite. CNN is fakE wit dis news and d so called military is not real bcos they r rules to granting interviews in military set up of which I believe CNN is aware.

CNN is trying to "dent" d image of d defence of Nigeria and d country as a whole.

    11. The Defense headquarters is actually dumber than I thought lol referring CNN as satanic omg who are their publicists? Must Nigerians attach everything to the Satan? Such a shallow writeup... YES the soldiers buys their kit themselves, I have lots of friends in the army so I know abt this. No adequate medical care even when they were injured in their line of duty, its so appalling that they have to go through this.. The moral is extremely low. I have to send money to some of this guys, sometimes airtime. And it's a by fire by force job because you can't pull out once you're in. The DHQ shud address the real issues here which is corruption and stop blaming the devil everytime.

      Shame on you DHQ

    1. Nigerians shouldn't be too quick to judge the CNN's report. We have been following closely the unending cases of mutiny, the bitter truth of which, the average man can spot the rot in either the delegation process or decay in the arms supposedly used to fight BH. Otherwise, I don't see how these soldiers knowing fully well the consequences of mutiny would still go ahead and undermine it.
Corruption is obvious even in our Defence headquarters.
A defence headquarters that is supposed to be the intelligent brain behind our security details cannot appropriately issue an intelligent memo, it rather turned spiritual, referring to CNN as satanic, all in a bid to tickle the ignorant minds of the populace into believing they are in charge. There are bold elements of truth in the report. We need transparency in these dealings, it is better we know the rot and continue to hammer on it than hanging on the drunken trickery of these military politicians.

Inasmuch as I appreciate the Nigeria Military (Field Soldiers and Officers), I strongly believe that a meagre N10,000 monthly bonus allowance is, in every truth, unacceptable. You can't expect a man to risk his life for N300 daily and be satisfied. Knowing fully well that if they die, their families might get nothing as support because of the corruption in the country. They can't air their pain, cause if they do, they'll be labelled rebels. These guys fight with sadness and gloom.
I believe the best we can do to show we care for them and this nation is to render our moral support, pray for them, and appreciate ever soldier man you see.

  61. What is satanic about the truth? Corruption has eaten into the fibre of the existence on Nigeria. This is so painful and heart breaking. Nigeria needs an urgent overhaul

  62. This is realy very unfortunate and sad, that is the one CNN will rush2 focus on,Nigeria needs all the support it can get to tackle this insurgency not bashing,.If only Nigeria can get as little as 1 quater of the support military/materials/logistics assistance and support countries under Isis/Isil attacks are getting,we culd have tackled this insurgency long b4 now..Nigeria can not do it alone, our troops/Goivernment need all forms of encouragement they can get from us pls and not bashing thank u..Hector writes in from kubwa.

  63. A man that refuses to acknowledge that his house is on fire will get burnt with the house . This report is 100% accurate . Corruption is so deep into our society that white and black cannot be differentiated. Plus its so sad that people out of the country care more about the book haram situation than people in Nigeria . If Nigeria can join hands to defeat Ebola then we can fight boko haram . Change can never come to Nigeria until the people want change . It is time to speak out . Election is coming , be alert and tell yourselves the truth

  69. Barracks pickin says:The present chief of Army staff is making every effort to equip the military and he is doing a good job but it's not a today's problem . The former chiefs never equipped our military all were just enjoying themselves , when you build on a shaky foundation what do you get ?
Our military is ill equipped , equipment do not have the technical expertise ,I feel so sorry for our men and women fighting the war, my heart bleds for the dead and their families .
Here I am wondering why GEJ has no understanding of the war being fought , he and his boys are cocooned somewhere living life @ it's fullest @ the expense of someone's father, son , husband and uncle , yet we say we have a country . My vote is my power I ain't voting , though it might / will not count but the satisfaction of knowing no party gets it is enough .
Oooh my heart bleds . May all our men who have lost their lives in this war , may their soul rest in peace , The Lord keep your families .

  72. Truth is satanic? No wonder boko haram is winning. Our soldiers are motivated. Corruption has eaten up Gej ARMY. Like Commander in chief, like officers.

    ReplyDelete
  73. That is just pure propaganda! Done for the rating and because it is a Nigeria under GEJ the world will believe it, even though it might not be true! I believe CNN interviewed impostors or BH members dressed in military fatigues. But then again, such accusation isn't always far from the truth.

  74. Ethics and code of conduct overlooked by CNN... Why not this the TRUTH! ... loyalty is earned .. Defence HQ reconsider the welfare of your soldiers and stop whining about CNN, bcos their lifes re on the LINE on the war on Boko Haram ....

  75. When i saw "satanic" i just knew Ruben Abati has a hand in that report....mtcheww

  76. The report has indicted those who gave death sentences to soldiers who refused to go die like chickens in Boko haram war. If Nigeria kills them, the rulers will surely face God's wrath.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I have my doubts....are those men really Nigerian soldiers....i doubt. The heat of the current war against insurgents is in the North East such as Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Adamawa and recently Gombe. Jos does not fall within this category. why then would a soldier from Jos complain of poor ammunition and kits. There is a battalion in the North East specially trained for the war against insurgency i.e the 7th Battalion. The president recently paid a surprise visit to the troop in the 7th Battalion and commended their effort. We all should join hands to support the military. The military was able to repel the attack on Biu. Soldiers have lost their lives and others have sustained injuries in this senseless war. We should extend a hand of fellowship to these ones. Render support to them in anyway. let us contribute our own quota in supporting the military. CNN should bow it head in shame. What is the motive behind such a satanic interview. The foreign media should direct it focus on the U.S Govt. Till date, the U.S Govt has refused to support our country with military equipments. We are getting our supplies from Russia and other countries. Within available resources, the Nigerian Military is trying and should be commended

  78. The thing CNN has spoken the truth that most soldiers can't say out cuz they would sentence them to death.

  79. This is pure lies and orchestrated by the APC. How can a Soldier be using a wooden gun in 2015 when Police Officers everywhere are using AK47. This is totally untrue and we know where it is coming from

    ReplyDelete
  80. No doubt! CNN cannot lie! Assuming its NTA that they can manipulate,I will say its a false news! Those army men fighting are suffering! I have a friend there, his always bitter whenever I call him! Nigerian Government is not trying for those guys! they need more help with ammunitions and financial fun for their families! They only thing the Government can understand now is to win the election, forgetting that the voters are been killed! #sadden###

  86. Instead of supporting the military we are here making sure we insult them at every turn. Has anyone here entered a bus down to the north to get first hand information by themselves? Whoever granted CNN that interview is a coward and a traitor and we as cowards will jump and start raining abuses from the comforts of our mobile phones. Soldiers are really dying out there if they were so ill equipped then they would have all deserted the battle line. But they are always there fighting for you and me and the least if what all you morons can do is to insult the generals and the rest of them. If you know better than them why didn't you join the military or rather go down to the north and say you want to help them at the battle front. Please let's stand united against these evil people with their 'Satanic Reports'

  87. Nigeria is currently beyond redemption (in my opinion). The ogas at the top do not care what happens, the stories abt the military offices being under paid etc are quite true. Corruption amongst others has been terribly rooted in the system right from our Independence. Until Nigerian come to say we are TIRED of this, the leaders will keep enriching themselves at our expenses.

  89. If you're ignorant, pls ask questions. Everything shown on CNN yesterday is the truth about Nigeria military. I served as a youth corper in one of the naija delta states and I know what I saw even with my naked eyes. They buy their uniforms, beg community they serve to pay them feeding allowances, charge people for offences so they feed their families. We were previledged to visit one of the oil blocks there and it was from the militant that the Nigeria soldier Oga was asking if we could pass.it just a mess my people. Monkey dey work, baboon dey shop.
God bless Nigeria soldiers on the battle field.

  94. It's true, CNN got the reports right. my brother is an Airforce officer and he was deployed to borno 2 years ago, during that period, he only called us thrice and whenever he does called, he lamented how they poorly treated and they gives media false reports to covered up because they(military) die like chicken there without even paying their allowance on time. So when they see they have been forgotten, he and some other officers took a risk and flew a bad helicopter out of there, they landed twice before they could reached Lagos. We need foreign intervention and due to corrupt heads, the media have been feeds with lies but their days are number.

Nigerian Govt should know there is a thing line between the insurgence fighters and the insurgence. These soldiers when pushed to the wall could cross the line and join the other side (BH) and fight the same govt or attempt another mutiny/coup.

Corruption has eaten into every sector in Nigeria
