Minster of Police Affairs warns police will arrest anyone who makes inciting statements, calls out Obasanjo

Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, has threatened to arrest and prosecute anyone, no matter how highly placed in the society, that makes inciting comments to heat the polity in Nigeria. He made the threat while speaking at the launch of a book by Mr. Yinka Odumakin in Lagos State titled "Watch the Watcher" yesterday December 29th. He accused former President Obasanjo of trying to introduce an interim government in Nigeria after loosing his bid to impose his own Vice Presidential Candidate on the APC. 16. % 100 approved......
Including those that insult His Excellency, The President of Nigeria.

Go and ask the people that insult President of Turkey where they are today.

You don't just insult, call your president names without prove.

Thank you sir (Mr. Jalili) for your move and everyome should note this.... it is not just a threat but assurance.

Everybody is free to side who ever he or she want to side....

But never will anyone insult, call names to His Excellency.

    I % 100 percent support that.

We are all one and we must respect our President.

Mr. President has never insulted anyone. So why must people insult, call him and his family names and get away with it.

Let the sucirty officers set up watch alart on every media (blogers, newspaper, tv, comedy etc) arrest and pesecute those that insult and call Mr. President names.

I will never insult my elder because of politics talk more of issues am not % 100 percent sure if it true or not.

May God continue to bless people that want peace in Nigeria.

Thank you all and remain blessed. ..

  21. He should start from Asari Dokubo..... Then, he will be free to arrest anybody else. All these instruments in the part of the ruling party. Until our Judiciary arm of Government is relatively independent of the Executive and legislative arms, we are joking in this country if we hope for equity and Justice.

  22. This is exactly what they should have done since

  23. There a dozen of them on the social media making inciting comments on both APC and PDP! I get the government now is a PDP run system but they shouldn't be biased in their treatment/handling of these situations

  24. Can u imaging what abt asari dokubor nd d rest of them hv u order police 2 arrest them? We no who will be our nest president com 2015 is nt any other man dan B nd Osin. Gbam I vote.

  25. Then go and get GEJ's Dokubo. Double standards.

    ReplyDelete
  26. this is just political talk which is not going to anywhere. baba iyabo has said the worst about this govt in the 18pages of letter he wrote to gej which i think such time was the best if he is going to be arrest. i don't know what u are waiting for, since then.now if u do so it is too late and what obasnjo said about this govt by comparing it with abacha will come to reality, because freedom of speech was denied during abacha, will it be denied during gej too? let see if he can arrest baba iyabo.

  44. On a more serious note, one shouldn't be insulting his president or making derogatory statement against ones country, its unpatriotic. As good citizens we don't need a warning to know that.

  45. In a normal clime, Jelili Adesiyan would be cooling his heels in a prison or gallows by now for the murder of Chief Bola Ige, but thanks to the cluelessness of our President and the desire to spite the opposition led to his emergence as a minister. People should listen to this guy talk and u will cover ur face in shame, with his badly worded sentences,to his serious "H" factor and grammatical blunders, you cannot but weep for this country that how did we get to this level.

A word for Mr Minister, stop harassing the opposition into silence, what's good for the goose is also good for the gander, let charity/arrest begin at home, start by arresting Asari Dokubo et al first before we take you serious

  57. I look at this nation with pity. There are only a few government officials that are professional in their job. Most of the ministers and DGs , including the IG speak and conduct themselves in unprofessional manner. I wonder if they see how their counterparts in civilized countries operate. As a top government official there are ways to professionally make ur statements without necessarily appearing partisan, biased or lopsided. You're expected to do your job for the Nigerian state, remaining neutral, and not in favor of any political party. I doubt if these so called ministers have requisite professional training on leadership and communication. Most of them behave and speak like touts deployed into ministerial position from under the bridge or motor parks. Undoubtedly , they're mostly round pegs in square holes. Well, what would U expect in a system that promote mediocity and despise excellence.

  62. Its very sad that a man like Mr Jelili saddled with security responsibility has never made any speech nor visited chibok since the unrest in the northeast of the country but suddenly found his voice when the election is fast approaching, dis administration is below average in perfomance bcs they keep acting irresponsibly when the need arise but play politics of stupidity when unnecesary,it is time to vote them out of power no sentiment attached bcs Jonathan is a natural follower and not a leader and i dare them to arrest Obj if they have the balls.God bless Nigeria.

  63. What type of a country is this? Imagine a minister talking like "agbero" (tout). What could be more inciting than the rubbish coming out from his mouth? Let watch and see how they will make any arrest and spare Bastard Doyin Okupe and co. Oga minister, you are the biggest fool I have ever seen in my life.
