Laserderm Clinics on Dry Skin

Does your skin have a feeling of tightness, especially after showering, bathing or swimming? Does your skin feel and look rough?

Do you have deep cracks in your skin that bleed; especially your heels, palms or elbow and knee creases? Do you itch or have flaky, scaly skin or skin that peels easily.

If the answer is yes to any of the above then you most likely have dry skin. Ordinarily, dry skin isn't serious, but it can be uncomfortable and unsightly, creating fine lines and wrinkles.

Serious dry skin conditions — an inherited group of disorders called ichthyosis — can sometimes be disfiguring and upsetting. It can be temporary or can be a lifelong condition.

It’s important to be aware signs and symptoms of dry skin depending on your age, your health, where you live, time spent outdoors and the cause of the problem. The Harmattan period is likely to accentuate symptoms in those persons that are susceptible.

Extremely dry skin can be a warning sign of a skin problem called dermatitis which is an inflammation of the skin; It can cause an itchy rash or dry irritated skin. The earlier dermatitis is diagnosed and treated the better. Without treatment, dermatitis often gets worse.

You can do a lot on your own to improve your skin, including using Emollients and moisturizers,  avoiding harsh, drying soaps. At Laserderm Clinics we can give you professional advice on the best products to use and how to apply them. We offer a range of products to meet individual needs

Emollient and Moisturizer: Applying a moisturizer frequently throughout the day can help. It can make the skin softer, smoother, and less likely to crack. Body moisturizers come in a few forms — ointments, creams, lotions, and oils
Medicine to aid relief of the itch and other symptoms improving overall skin health can be scripted for your use.

Dry SKIN as already stated can be quite simple or a serious issue for different people. We are good at what we do, allow us to care for your skin. Pay us a visit and talk to one of our experts.
