Singer Faycol dies on child naming ceremony, see pics from her May 2014 wedding

Abeokuta-based hip-hop star, Feyisayo Mojisola Oyetade popularly known as Faycol died on Tuesday Oct. 14th in Sagamu while preparing for her 8-day old baby boy's naming ceremony. Feyi collapsed suddenly and died the same day her child's naming ceremony was to hold.

She was immediately rushed to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Lantoro, Abeokuta where she was pronounced "brought-in-dead". Feyi was then taken to a church for prayers and was reported to have opened her eyes but was in a coma for a while before she finally gave up the ghost. Feyi, who was the only child of her parents, has since been buried at the Sagamu Local government Cemetery. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.

Feyisayo married her manager, Abayomi Oyetade in May this year. See photos from her wedding after the cut...

  17. May God save us in this country called Nigeria.May her soul rest in peace, but for how long will we keep loosing mothers??? I would have been a dead woman too if I had my baby 4 years ago in Nigeria. I carried the pregnancy all thru and delivered without hassles. I was discharged home and was being checked on by my midwife. On the 7th day post delivery my BP started going up and on the 8th day i was readmitted through emergency for preeclampsia a rare and grave condition POST delivery, it can occur during pregnancy as well and this is the most common type. Probably this was what she had high BP???Who knows. May God save our mothers in Nigeria, if the government have refused to do their bit

    1. Rightly said, child birth is a serious experience pre and post natal. ... I was severely Ill after my first child's naming ceremony in fact a day after naming so that would be 8 days after birth, and that's not just due to stress , there are issues that could come up post delivery as you've mentioned and in my case I was admitted and given blood thinning medications for blot clot ( you can easily die from bold clotting) pls mothers in Nigeria, be it good/expensive or govt hospitals, check your health seriously during pregnancy and post delivery stress doesn't help too, not that what will happen won't happen but having good and accessible healthcare will prevent a lot of post-natal deaths ( this should be a big priority for the Nigerian govt) it's such a pity , I am really sad for this young family.. Rip

    2. You are so right, after I I delivered my first baby my brother in-law that was suppose to be happy with me, came to make quarrel with me through text msgs. After reading all his msgs I didn't know when I collpsed due to high BP and was in a coma for days, thank God I survived it. That's why I still find it hard to forgive him. May her soul RIP.

  53. Poor Lady, RIP. What I don't yet understand is why a lady would collapse in Sagamu and she is taken to a hospital in Abeokuta. a lot could have been done for her during that period of transit if she was taken to a hospital in sagamu, unless some details of her treatment were omitted

  65. Some nigerians are so fucken ignorant and uneducated sha. What has obganje and emere got to do with this. The poor woman more likely than not had problems with her childbirth. Walahi to the two fools who called her ogbanje and emere can you just jump off the eko bridge already and save "sane" human beings from breathing the same air as you. Irritants

  74. Reading some of the comments here and wondering how some people can be writing stuff like 'ogbanje'. Ignorant bunch. Please take some time and do some research. Pre and post pregnancy complications do not make a person an ogbanje and have nothing to do with deliverance. May the lady rest in peace.

  77. Unfortunately, many africans are yet to ldentify with High Blood Pressure as the silent undetected killer of most new moms worldwide. Please, from any age above 20; once you get pregnant, ensure your BP is under serious scrutiny before and after birth. Start taking safe BP lowering tabs immediately. And do not stop until you are advised to by your GP. Tin or beefy, blood pressure can affect anyone, unfortunately, most of the times, it gives no symtoms. May her departed soul rest in peace.
