Photo: Fiance of late nurse Justina Ejelonu discharged from Ebola treatment centre

The fiancé of late Justina Ejelonu, the First Consultant nurse who died on August 14th from complications from the deadly Ebola Virus has been discharged from the Ebola Isolation Centre, Sahara Reporters reports.

Dennis (pictured left) who turned himself in for observation after falling ill 14 days after his fiancée Justina died, was certified free of the virus and discharged from the Isolation center yesterday evening August 23rd after tests carried out on him showed he didn't have Ebola.

Narrating how Justina fell ill and later died, Dennis said Justina, who was two months pregnant when the illness started, began vomiting on him and then collapsed in his presence before he immediately rushed her to the hospital. He said while she was admitted at the isolation center, he hung around the hospital occasionally going into the Ebola ward to cater for her as nurses and doctors abandoned her to her fate at the treatment center.
Justina was the nurse who attended directly to Patrick Sawyer at the First Consultant Hospital.

  9. Hmm! Sometime, I try to understand why some things happen. What chain of reaction, or destiny, or law of cause and effect would cause this lovely women to lose their lives in a matter of weeks. I mean, the nurse, and the doctor that attended to Patrick Sawyer. Why do painful deaths like this happen?

  20. He turned himself in? What am I hearing, tot I heard secondary contacts were under surveillance, I really don't understand all the jack the Government are saying? Its so sad because the Government don't even care, they are just using the avenue to engulf more and more money, saying they are doing what I don't know with billions of naira, they sure believe this can't get to them or if it gets, they could easily get the drugs to cure their selves... This is so bad.... Read through what the guy said, he was the one that rush her to the hospital when she started vomiting on him and all that... Ummmm, don't know what else to say, but I sincerely fear for Nigeria, may God help us.

    2. Seriously o, I don't understand what is going on anymore. I thought they said they quarantined all the primary contacts and monitored the secondary contacts. How come she vomited on him and he rushed her to the hospital? Wasn't she supposed to be at the isolation centre already? And what if he hadn't turned himself in, would we have known if he had contracted the. virus? #God help Nigeria

  38. Thank God for him! But d truth is now coming out, obviously Dr Adadevor and Justina who had primary contact with Sawyer were not quarantined as we were told by d Govt if not how come. She was at home with him b4 he took ha for quarantine, and I read in SDK's blog dat Adadevor was also at home until she became very ill dats wen an ambulanc was sent to get her! Dis is really bad, disheartening and scarey, obviously our govt don't giv a hoot wat happens to its citizens cos as usuall, d masses suffer for it y'll dey stay on deir high horses and lie to us! Too bad!

  65. The minister of health is just on a political jamboree and they are all using this avenue to make money. Those the minister of health claimed were under observation were sitting in their houses. When will this government stop telling us lies? Only corrupt people thrive in Nigeria.

Please make a donation to Medecins San Frontiers through their web site:www.msf.org. There are in the forefront, dealing with the Ebola scourge. They need a great deal of financial assistant. I just made a donation through their UK web site, and I hope to make it regular. Thank you.

  67. 1). So, not all known primary contacts of Sawyer were isolated? She vomited and collapsed AT HOME.
2). The guy was able to enter the ebola ward freely,he was caring for an ebola patient, making him a PRIMARY CONTACT. He entered the ward and went back home from time to time. Therefore, the guy's secondary contacts have to be traced.
3). He has not completed his 21 days incubation monitoring. From what he says, he is not even a secondary contact. He is a primary contact. He still needs to be isolated somewhere.
4). I pray that he really will not test positive to the virus even after the incubation period. Thank God for him.
