Must read: US State Department Ebola Alert

If you want to know more about the Ebola virus, then read this alert from the US Embassy here in Nigeria ...
In order to help our Embassy Community better understand some of the key points about the Ebola virus we have consulted with our medical specialists at the U S State Department and assembled this list of bullet points worded in plain language for easy comprehension. Our medical specialists remind everyone that they should be following the guideline from the center for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation.
• The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.
• Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.
• Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.
• Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body fluids. Continue...
• Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.
• The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.
• A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.
• Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, feces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).
• If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.
• There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in small one room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.
• You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.
• There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.
• As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person.

  22. Well, wonderful piece of information. But since there is been the first trial of the drug and it has proven to have worked effectively..why not send it in as this is an emergency situation. These drugs wouldn't be delayed if the disease had outbroken in the UK or US..Africa needs transformation ..#

  23. Nobody saw this Ebola coming at the begining of this year. But a lot of them saw air and road mishaps, a lot of warnings went to celebrites in the name of prophecies, but no one warned us about this deadly disease.

  25. In Noah Ritter's Voice(current child celebrity),i will say "it's like a thousand drops from heaven, and apparently, this ebola virus is real, and apparently i am scared half to death and apparently it freaks me out". And "apparently" i keep asking myself why on earth that US/Liberian man had to come to Nigeria.

    1. Exactly my thoughts! If u touch money infected ul contact it, if u shake hands ul contact it and if u swim in the same pool ul contact it, ebola is not written on anyone's face so u don't know who the next person is and what he is carrying.

  37. Fear is worst than death, fear is the greatest human enemy, it is the devils tools to get at people. Please dear lib readers, don't let fear of ebola grip u, the fear alone can kill the person even before the virus attacks. Let us all be positive minded, don't use ur mouth to create problem that doesn't exist. Rather than cursing the govt, the nation and saying all sort of negative things, pray for the nation that this diseases will not survive here in nigeria, that's the first step and that's what will help in over coming the trauma. Let ur words encourage people not discouraging them. Pls lib people stop d cursing and negative comments its not wise. We will overcome all of this.
ebola can't survive in this country, it will surely pass away. Most diseases are spiritual, so u need to pray. When JESUS met with some sick folks what he did was to cast out the devil tormenting them. A carnal man can not understand the things of the Spirit. All that u see is not all there is, the spiritual controls the physical.

Life without CHRIST is an empty life ***********************************The world is nearing its expiring date, because of its abuse by people. Sin has become d order of the day. People don't see anything wrong in doing evil, lot of heart of men are stony. The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST is the power of GOD to save. lib readers please u guys need to be born again. Am enjoying success in CHRIST JESUS, am reigning in life. Wow!what a glorious life I have, I can't fail in life, I have power over the circumstances of life. I have heaven inside of me,am an ambassador of God here on earth. Greater is HE that is in me than he that is in the world. My dear people,U need to have a relationship with CHRIST to enjoy what am enjoying, I can't be sick,I can't fail,I can't be broke,I can't be afraid. dear lib people including linda, JESUS loves u all and HE wants to give u guys eternal life, just confess HIM as ur LORD and SAVIOUR, believe in your heart that HE died for ur sins, ask him to come into ur life and be d LORD of your life, say from to day I am born again, I have eternal life in me,I am saved. If u pray this prayer with all ur heart congratulation u are saved. Get a bible, study it daily and pray. Attend a living church and participated in the church activities. Guess suddenly it has led nigeria to forget Boko Haram and put interest here..Funds will definitely come in, nigeria will ask for funds from international bodies, a lot will see dis as a means to get richer.. I ask Nigeria for one thing.. let Every Funds be used accurately. God bless Nigeria... that leberia man you try oh indeed u tried.
