Liberian man in Lagos being tested for Ebola

The Lagos State Ministry of Health today July 24th said a Liberian man in his 40s is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Lagos

On July 14th, the Lagos state government issued an alert to residents of the state over the deadly virus currently sweeping through some west African countries, including Liberia.

Further details on the outcome of the test is still being expected. This would be the first recorded case of one of the world's deadliest diseases in Nigeria.

  51. Why did they let him in the country in the first place ehn.All these tests should have been done at the border or better still he should have been cleared medically by a reputable hospital in his country.look at this now ehn.we have too many issues in Nigeria and adding Ebola to it would sink the country. The testing they are now doing isn't bad but they are doing it late, they should have taken necessary precautions especially when it comes to the countries that Ebola wants to wipe them out completely and Liberia is one of them.Nigeria always allowing rubbishing and giving room for nonsense.im praying he is not carrying that thing oo,because he will most likely have distributed small.God please don't let this agent of death have his way in our dear Nigeria Biko.please oh lord, the country is seriously not ready for this.I beg o God have mercy!

  72. Please people, wash hands as often as possible especially after handshakes and contact with others. U never know who sneezed and forgot to wash their hands.
Ensure your children wash their hands every time they get in regardless or where they are coming from. Get hand sanitizers, wash all fruits before eating and beware of buying cooked/ partially cooked food for now! Prevention is better than cure

  74. Dear Linda,
I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS MESSAGE GETS TO THE NIGERIA FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND IMMIGRATION OFFICERS OF NIGERIA, I SUGGEST A PROPER CHECK-UP BE RUN ON TRAVELERS FROM ANY OF THESE COUNTRIES WHO HAVE BEEN SAID TO HAVE THE VIRUS CIRCULATING IN THEIR COUNTRY... IF THIS MEDICAL HEIGHTS CAN'T BE REACHED THEN NO ONE FROM ANY OF THOSE COUNTRIES SHOULD BE ALLOWED INTO NIGERIA... ABEG OOOOOO

  76. For those of u dropping shitty comments,i don't think u have an idea what Ebola is,the reason why we haven't moved forward in this country is,most of us think God will come down and change it for us,the only thing u should be expecting from God is the end time Nigerians, Doctors re on strike and there is an epidemic of possibly spreading virus.
Have you all thought about how un-hygenic Lagos and and it's environs is,over population and the vast spread of this disease if it break loose and possible the contact this liberian dude most have made before he was found,d level of iliteracy and how this diseases will spread like gala in our BRT buses,trains,bus-stops,markets,churches,mosque.
Maybe dis is possibly what will finish us off in Nigeria, for u prayer warriors and negative critics, keep @ it and don't beg the govt to look into this for once and let d doctors resume work.maybe it can be controlled b4 it will finish us all.
    #CHANGE#

  77. My prayer is that God should make him come out negative because am already sweating and weeping here.

    ReplyDelete
  78. If this is true, it means that our immigration and airport health officials are dumb. with the knowledge of Liberia being a country infected with this virus, shouldn't a sanction be in place for emigrants from Liberia and other affected countries into Nigeria? shouldn't there be a medical requirement for this emigrants b4 entering our borders? i hate this country i swear. we neva get things right!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. And they we later say the doctors' strike isn't justified. Its them and their families that r first exposed to all these deadly diseases

  84. Guys! Guys!! there is something we are ignoring here, please are there no IT Savvy persons out here that could relate the outbreak of this Ebola Virus to the usual System virus that we all know,

Programmers are paid by antivirus companies to write these codes to cause harm and before long people will start paying so much money to antivirus softwares

My honest opinion is the release of this virus is an attack that stemmed from a Lab somewhere just like AIDS and so many others, so is the Ebola and right now we cant really say who is behind the release and why.

I really would suggest that any victim of the virus should be well investigated, friends and family that are connected to them.

Also for both Christians and Muslims we now have a new prayer point because be it Congo, Liberia or wherever they r our brothers so we have to pray that the people funding the spread of these God should Expose them wherever they are doing it from.

    Thank You

  85. Through this you will learn techniques to stabilize the patient
and assure swifter recovery. Just because PALS courses can bee taken by people who are not in to professional
medicine or, healrh care, it does not in any way mean that these courses are of any
less importance. Before performing NRP the trainees however,
are required to take NRP certification.

  86. One of the most important means to be eqipped with the skills and knowledge about proper patient care is by attending pediatric advanced life
support or PALS classes to be able to further improve one's life-saving skills.

But you can’t be so sure that there will be no
such incident happen in your life. Some people will prefer to teach CPR to the general public.
