Etisalat-sponsored Nigerian Idol IV show: Top 12 ready for musical battle

Last week’s result show of the Etisalat-sponsored Nigerian Idol season IV competition announced the successful sail-through of Beebee Bassey, Obed, and Nyro Love from the last group of 10 contestants into the top 12 stag.

During the wildcard stage last weekend, the 10 evicted contestants were given the chance to perform their hearts out and get a chance to re-enter the competition. Continue...

After their performances, the effervescent Nneka Egbuna chose to save Evelle; dare-devil judge, Dare Art-Alade, gave his vote to save Antwon; and proudly Nigerian judge, Dede Mabiaku used his wildcard vote to save Eye-D. This third round of eviction now brings to a total of twelve contestants that have made it to the next round of the competition.

On the outcome of the competition so far, Head, Events and Sponsorship, Etisalat Nigeria, Modupe Thani said Nigerians need to brace themselves for a season like never before.

The judges congratulated the top 12 contestants, and encouraged the contestants who didn’t make it to the top 12 not to give up their dreams.

With all 12 top contestants moving on to the Gala stages of the competition, the million-Naira question is who will be crowned the winner of this season’s Nigerian Idol. The judges have their opinions but the Nigerian public still holds the final decision through their votes by dialing the contestants’ number from an Etisalat line or sending the number via SMS to 33680. Voting opens every Sunday and closes midnight the following Wednesday.

  16. This day and age of Nigeria really saddens me. Look at the complete mayhem and blood shed in the north and people just go on about their lives simply because its not personally affecting them. I think the solution to this problem would be an outright protest of everything. No Nigerian Idol, no MBGN, no Miss Nigeria, no Big Brother, no airing of entertainment, no red carpets, no events, NOTHING! The entire country needs to come together to let our leaders know we are not sitting with our arms folded.People are dying everyday because of political ulterior motives and nobody living outside of the areas affected seems to care. What difference is the Nyanya bombing from other bombings over the last few years? OH, BECAUSE THEY TARGETED THE NATION'S CAPITAL? If that doesn't serve as a wake up call then I don't know what does.
    I SERIOUSLY WEEP FOR NIGERIA!
