Boko Haram strikes again, kills monarch, 19 others in fresh attacks

A monarch and 19 others have been killed in 2 separate Boko Haram attacks that occurred yesterday night April 14th and in the early hours of this morning April 15th in Borno state.

Reports say the sect men arrived Hawul Local Government Area at about 7.30pm yesterday evening and killed the Monarch (District head) inside his bedroom. His guard was also killed. The monarch had just returned from his evening prayers when he was followed into his bedroom and shot dead.
"They simply walked right into the palace of the monarch and shot him in his bedroom. And on their way out they also shot at his guard before fleeing away into the dark night. a politician from the area said
In a separate attack, 18 people were killed this morning in Wala village in Gwoza LGA, just about 130km away from Chibok town where 103 secondary school girls were abducted on Monday night.

    1. This day and age of Nigeria really saddens me. Look at the complete mayhem and blood shed in the north and people just go on about their lives simply because its not personally affecting them. I think the solution to this problem would be an outright protest of everything. No Nigerian Idol, no MBGN, no Miss Nigeria, no Big Brother, no airing of entertainment, no red carpets, no events, NOTHING! The entire country needs to come together to let our leaders know we are not sitting with our arms folded.People are dying everyday because of political ulterior motives and nobody living outside of the areas affected seems to care. What difference is the Nyanya bombing from other bombings over the last few years? OH, BECAUSE THEY TARGETED THE NATION'S CAPITAL? If that doesn't serve as a wake up call then I don't know what does.
      I SERIOUSLY WEEP FOR NIGERIA!

    3. @anon 11:51pm this isn't NTA , linda is not going to start reporting propaganda . War is what they want , I don't want a repeat of what happened in the biafran war . So many lives were lost , that didn't need to happen . Politicians need to stop play politics with our lives , it needs to stop . Exactly ! How is the the attack in Abuja any different from the ones happening in the north , and we should be worried because it almost seems like these guys are moving closer to the south . I pray it doesn't happen though

    1. Please those that say they are targeting the south/christians, let this show that they are attacking everyone and are not acting under islamic doctrines. Majority of the people that are killed are actually muslims. Please let us unite and fight BH instead of each other.

    1. My dear tell GEJ oh! U don't sit down to dialogue with one who is pointing a gun at ur face. GEJ needs to stop being diplomatic abt this whole BH issue and see them as a treat to the security and existence of this country. It has not been heard anywhr in the whole that a country is hvin peace talks with persons who threaten the very existence of that nation(except in nigeria).
My only comfort is that these BH pple attack their own...since it was their leader who trained them in the first place(if wole soyinka's statement is anythin to go by). Then again it pains me thath they r not takin the war to their officials but the innocent citizens are suffering the outcome of sumthin they knw nothin abt.#casualtiesof war#

  16. I think the BH camp shouldn't be too far away...i am sure there camp is located inside Borno State... That state has to be turned upside down.. Many of the BH assault is coming from that side Government should take note.... There most be an urgent stop to this madness...

  22. There is clearly more to these than we ordinary Nigerians know. I don't understand how convoy of trucks and hilux vans sometimes 10 and above will travel for kilometers undetected, carry out these killings and escape. Suicide. Bombing can be carried out and understood. I think our leaders owe us explanations as to what is going on. If yahoo boys can be traced to their hideout with the help of technology, how will satelite not pick d convoy of those people killing innocent people and hiding behind BH just to paint a religion black. This is a dirty way to play politics.

    3. Bringing investigators from d US is the wrong move they themselves haven't solved their problem in Iraq and Afghanistan . Does anyone not remember when the US published a report saying we would need their help eventually how are we not sure that they are arming Boko haram because after that report was published the attacks got worse . The US are evil , I don't want Nigeria to became like all the other countries they have infiltrated .

  52. If this is what lslam is all about, l hereby renounce my membership as a Muslim. I was opportuned to read the Holy Bible and everything about Jesus Christ was based on love. He loved, He preached love, He gave love, He showed love, He even prayed for those who hated him. I was born into lslam, l'm now 42yrs old and l never saw where love was preached in the quran. Everything about lslam is war, violence, hatred, killings, bombings, suicide attacks, terrorism etc. I'm gonna give Christianity a try.

    1. Wow! I am so happy for her! Not to be judgemental but that's one thing I don't understand about Islam the vengeance the killings ( talking about the fanatics like they call them) because when you talk about that some muslims will say no o those are the fanatics a fanatical christian will preach more love and holiness and forgiveness than to give an eye for an eye. An not judging please it's just something I have thought about and wondered why they believe in killing

  57. Gob bless you anonymous 7:48pm.the truth is our military are boko haram themselves.thier sponsors are very rich oil block owners who aid their activities.infact they are more comfortable with the sponsorship(money) than they care about lives.so my dear,i think gej should scrap the whole military force for now and bring in new trustworthy ones or better still seek the help of other countries, that would be a right step to a right direction.lastly,we as Nigerian should change our mentality, lets learn to be our brothers keeper in the spirit of revolution.

  61. The whole of Nigeria will be in trouble if nothing is done about this,it can extend to the east and south if nothing is not done about it .I think GEJ should seek foreign assisstance in tackling dis issue.

  63. The south south are responsible for these attacks. they are camouflaging behind bokoharam. they want to reduce the population and inscribe fear in northerners hearts for 2015.How is it possible for a community of nomads and traders to acquire such sophisticated weapons? how come with the presence of the millitary in borno, the attackes still are carried out with impunity? let us begin to tell ourselves the truth.
