I can understd the pressure some ladies feel to become light because even my mum used to complain a lot that I need to get light again. I had so many pressure on me to get light again and I did get light again using a skin brightening cream. I can tell you the number of admirers increased like crazy. All I'm sayn is dat as much as people insult skin bleachers, they also forget we all have a hand in that person's decision. Having said that, I ve also come to realise the harm in bleaching one's skin,all you have to do is go for a yoruba wedding(I'm yoruba) and see what harm bleaching does. All I do now is take good care of my skin. Drink lots of water, exfoliate, use natural products like shea butter and eat right, it really works. I'm not as light as I was using the skin brightening cream but I ve an even skin tone and healthy looking skin.

All dey had on her was "sending d wrong msg to kids" hissss. 1st her product isn't for kids/children 2nd, I don't think any kid can afford it, even d rich ones will need d help of Mom 3rd, has a mom u buy wat ur kids use and if a diff start to occur u change asap! ReplyDeleteAs someone who has suffered from psoriasis for pretty much all of my life and has a thorough understanding about skin hyper-pigmentation I am appalled at the bleaching culture in Nigeria. Appalled or not, there will come a day where this will be as widely accepted as relaxing your hair. Young girls need to speak to women in their 40s and 50s who made the decision to bleach their skin. In fact forget talking to them- just look at them and see how they have turned out....

ReplyDeleteThey are all half wits. Dancia, the interviewer and the other woman. They all sounded uneducated. Most of their points were not elaborated and didn't have any clear direction. Anyways it's channel 4 what else can you expect. I always thought dancia was nigerian, now I know she isn't. I don't think bleaching will ever resolve any form of insecurity. The people who do it in hope of becoming "pretty" or more confident are just lacking common sense. Because you would always think that you are better than someone because your skin is lighter, when it actually comes to proving yourself as a competent human being. You can not succeed. Because you have being consumed with the thought that skin will take you far. So you actually forget to do the proper reading and the proper studying that will. You end up hating yourself because you realise that you still are not competent and you spiral into more depression. So please just be happy with yourself. It's not everything that should be changed. Because as the bible puts it. "All is lawful but not all is expedient".
