Grammy winner Macklemore says Kendrick Lamar was robbed

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were nominated for 7 Grammy Awards last night and won 4 - Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and beat Jay Z, Kanye West, Drake & Kendrick Lamar for Best Rap Album.

Many people felt Kendrick should have won Best Rap Album at least and so did Macklemore. After the awards, he apologized to Kendrick for 'robbing' him. See his text to Kendrick after the cut

    How are you even gonna compare Kendrick's Good Kid,Mad city album to Macklemore's The Heist?
    I respect how Macklemore was able to record his album in basments and as an independent artiste to attain this level of commercial success but his album was merely a collection of good songs that leaned towards Pop more than it did Hip Hop.
    Thrift Shop was #1 song on Billboad in 2013 no doubt but you can't even compare that single to Kendrick's Swimming Pool or Don't Kill My Vibe.
    Good Kid,Mad City was a conceptual album that brought back elements that Hip Hop lacked yet they give the Grammy's to Macklemore?
    Only reason he got those awards is cos he did that pro-gay anthem,Same Love. Guess the Gay community rallied behind him,one cannot also ignore the fact that his white suburban fan base contributed to this robbery.
    I just lost every iota of respect for the Grammy's,same thing they did last hear by giving Drake for his Take Care album over Nas and in 2011 by giving Eminem over The Root.(no to take anything from the rap god himself,Eminem)
    The Grammy's don't have Hip Hop's interest at heart,if they did,Macklemore's "Hip-Pop" album won't win over a truly Hip Hop classic as Kendrick's Good Kid,Mad City.

    With each passing year it becomes more clear to me how much the credibility of the Grammy awards are going down the drain. It is now an over-politicized popularity contest! I clearly remember watching the Grammy's as a child in the 90's and early 2000's.....so different from today. yes, music is evolving and award shows should evolve, but not change their principles!It used to be all about the music, now it has turned into a people-pleasing fiasco! OMW, adults can love whomever they want, but that stunt where they married all those couples was a bit much....is this not the same crowd fighting against prayer in public schools? now they want to use the grammy's to push their own agenda? puh-leese, like I said, I ain't no homophobe, but the Grammy's are not the place to do that.     i would have been surprised this year again but the grammys lived up to its billing as a very fake and kind of racist award .... was super depressed last yr when Nas didnt win the best rap album(Life is Good), although he over deserved the award i was shocked when 'take care by a some what puerile/mediocre artiste Drake won that category... still trying to understand the basis for this very act of damaging decision ans almost a year later @ the 56th awards a similar disaster occurred.... macklemore isn't a bad artiste unlike drake but its a rude shock that an award of this esteem is fast loosing its astute respect in my books ..... congrats to those who won and to those who lost i say better luck next time

    Who said Kendrick Lamar was better than Macklemore last year i can send you the link to download the album.. The Heist Album is the Best Album of Last Year.... Like i said earlier when the list of nominees was posted on this blog.. When Kanye West said fuck those nominations... He said he's "Urban" when he already knew he's not going to win any award when is nominated together with a White Person, I already knew that's a hint that Macklemore's gonna win the Rap Album....
