At last, Enugu first lady Clara Chime leaves government House

It's good to cry to the press o. After months or even years of being illegally detained at Enugu State Government House by her husband, Governor Sullivan Chime, Enugu First Lady Clara Chime has finally left her marital home. Clara left the Govt House in the early hours of yesterday morning Monday November 11th according to reports.

The governor, with the assistance of security operatives attached to Government House packed Clara Chime's personal effects, forced her out of the lodge and took her to mother's residence at the Coal City Garden Estate in Enugu. Clara has vowed never to return to her husband again.

  2. This should serve as warning to our Nigeria girls and women, who will choose money ahead of character and love... Many of the so called rich women are sad in their husband houses.... Money is not everything.. Life is in stages, if you work hard u will make money, u don't a man to make you rich

    4. You're very sad and pathetic for making such unintelligent comment, Am married with a child, (God forbid it) but the day my husband starts maltreating me is the day I become single again. I love my husband but he also needs to love me and our family to be worthy of being called a husband. Pls which is more important happiness or marriage its because of this stupid ideology that good or bad you stay and make itwork, that's why most Naija men feel invisible and do whatever they want to their wife. Wake up, your purpose in life is not to be a wife better or worse does not mean stay and have your so called husband kill you all in the name if marriage. You are suppose to be happy and free to talk to your spouse, not fearing him, he's not God. There are things that can be worked out, you can be put and happy, childless and happy, if your partner messes up you get mad, forgive and both of you move on happily, sick but when you remember that youare cared for, you thank God anyways, that's marriage, that's better or worst. And before you get all biblical with me, how did the Bible say a man should treat his wife? Fanatics with no facts.

    6. You're just so daft. You'd rather see a woman get killed in her matrimonial home than to see her run out for the sake of her safety. So when people are rejoicing that they're safe, you'll be there accusing them of other things. #smh

  11. Good for her. This story serves as a deterrent to would-be husband snatchers. She thought she was lucky wen she snatched the governor frm his wife, now who has laughed last? Learn from this Clara and move on with ur life. Wickedness and desperation does not pay.

  21. Wow! I am not sure this lady was being illegally detained as you have put it.... what seems clear is that she had or has psychological problems. She admitted that much when she talked about the nervous breakdown & medical care she was receiving..... My guess is that they were trying to manage her situation & she was frustrated by their moves/actions.....

  125. Funniest story coming from nigeria in a while.if this happens here in the US ,the governor will not smell the govt house cos of the backlash he will get from women group and the press. But trust nigerians, moralist and judge to one another except to their politicians. No matter what happpened between them, this is not the proper way to end marital discord especially from someone who should be the upholder of the law.he's laying a bad precedence for the men of his state that women, even wives, are to be utterly disrespected. Wish I were in naija to hear the real gist. But anyway, wish her well.

  157. Linda, good job with your blog. We all love gossip, but you also bring attention to pertinent human rights and political issues that need to be discussed in Nigeria. Keep up the great job. You are a great role model to young Nigerian girls.
